Are you thinking of running a high-fantasy setting, filled with magic? If that's the case, you might want to ask yourself: Is the distinction between magic and non-magic more important than the distinction between ranged and melee attacks?

If you answered yes to both of these questions, this mini-supplement is for you .

It's short and sweet, and probably quicker for you to read it yourselves. Nothing too fancy, easy to tweak to your own settings.

Very nice, I have been considering doing something very similar. In my mind I thought that I would simply add a third Defense type, but I think i like your approach better.

I created this talent you may find interesting:

Ward

Tier 1

Activation: Incidental (Out of Turn)

Ranked: Yes

When your character suffers a hit from a magic based combat check, after damage is calculated but before soak is applied (so immediately after Step 3 of Perform a Combat check, page 102), your character may suffer 3 strain to use this talent to reduce the damage of the hit by two plus their ranks in Ward. This talent can only be used once per hit.
