This game is the greatest!

Actually, the more I read and think about it, Jendon alone has really been the thorn in all my most frustrating Relay spam lists.

He's really really hard to snipe, singlehandedly allows gozantis to function from across the board, and punches at (or above) his points cost too.

I think he's the biggest offender.

But again, I love this game and those have been the only times I've been grumpy with it. I still think the flotillas for tabling tweak would be the easiest fix. Very non-invasive.

There is no Jendon. There is the MAAREKDON! Now there's a silly combo that any Gozanti can push around.

But did you know Jendon must be escorted, or any handful of A or E wings can easily wipe him out?

With the caveat that Escort for someone like Jendon, especially in Sloane fleets, probably means every other fighter in the fleet attacking, locking down, or murdering all opposition. It's how my Sloane fleet keeps him and to a lesser extent Dengar alive. Can't shoot me if I already shot you enough times you're dead.

Yes. That's the plan. But, having played WITH Sloane very many times now, I'm very aware of the potential to remove Jendon.

I don't think I've ever lost Jendon in a scenario where the bulk of my combat power was not also dead. But yes, if he can be isolated, which is certainly possible to happen unintentionally due to his low speed he is far from invincible. Worst case scenario, attack him six times with one hit minimum, including from ship fire, he'll be dead.

I think a lot of players are reluctant to prioritize attacking him over other squadrons even when he's an option. In most of my time running him he's the very last squadron my opponents ever attack.

See that's always seemed odd to me. I can understand other squads might be more of a priority all other things being equal, but as soon as it's obvious how much someone is relying on his Relay, better players around here focus only on him if they can.

Seriously, if the other guy is putting that much weight on Relay, knock out the weak link. Doesn't matter if all your fighters die. If his remaining squads won't do much to your ships because they can't be commanded, your fighters did their jobs. Just suit up and go all

For me it really depends. I've faced Jendon quite a few times, most times when people use him, locally, it's not for the relay, it's for the secondary attack, so he's not always a priority. However, in the cases where he is the linchpin to their squad ball, especially where they spam 2 at a time from gozers skirting the edge, he becomes an obvious and easy target, leaving the rest of the ball to try their luck in the squadron phase.

Even when he's there primarily for the second attack I feel that he should be a priority. If you wait to target him last then he'll always enable a second attack from whatever the deadliest squadron you have left is. Say you kill Maarek first now Saber snipes twice, you kill Saber second now Morna shoots twice, and so on and so forth. He's a force multiplier and I think that alone makes him a high priority target. I've had people prioritize Ciena or Mauler over attacking him when they had all my squads locked up where they couldn't move and much less of a chance of killing those cheaper scatter aces.

Like I said, it depends. I run a 4-6 squad ball typically built around FCs and Howl. I can usually kill jendon with 3-4 squads. In cases where I think I can get 2+ kills from that squad ball, or cases where there's only 1 hard hitter and I can remove him before Jendon, I'll prioritize other squads first. Like I said, if he's the linchpin to their ball, whether it be delivering hits or relay, I focus him, but sometimes it's just not worth it.

I don't disagree with you there. I tend to run a bunch of FC backed aces so people can rarely get two kills from 3-4 attacks and there's always more than 1 heavy hitter. It just seems like a large number of people I've faced have trouble deciding how to prioritize which squads they attack and in what order. I can't tell you how many times when running my Sloane list that I've had people eat counter 4 with a re-roll from Fel rather than take 1 auto damage from hitting Howlrunner or Dengar. It's a decision I'll never understand.

All of the joy got sucked out of your post when you threw shade at the Pelta.
