Veers has me worried

By Deddog, in Star Wars: Legion

I want FF to succeed with Legion

but if I am to invest money and time in a hobby it has to be top notch. The standard set in miniatures these days is amazing.

As a customer I want awesome sculpts and versatility.

I don’t think I am going to get this, especially after seeing the Veers sculpt.

I hope FF gets it ?

Can you be more specific? What is it about the Veers sculpt that bothers you.

1 post, you didnt make posts about Rebels and Stormtroopers last week did you by any chance? :)

whats up with Veers?

What has me worried are all the first time posters who always seem to have similar identifying hesitations and apprehensions about miniature poses. Its just so remarkable. <_<

What has me worried is the possibility that we are going to be destroyed by an invisible death planet in the near future.

I guess we all have something.

(i may not be entirely serious here....)

Imagine taking the time to create a profile just to say 'I'm not going to buy this'. Slow news day, I suppose.

Then just don’t get him

Veers has me worried too. He could come for my rebel cell any day now. We wouldn't stand a chance against at-ats...

You rebel scum wouldn’t stand a chance against anything

He does look kind of weird. Big head, short legs thing going on.

edit: Actually, when you see him larger he's looks OK. Why do they put such small pictures on the FFG site? The main thing you're buying is the mini...

Is this a render or real?

edit2: he looks surprised. shouldn't he be commanding things?

It's just his giant definitely-not-at-all-phallic headgear (i deliberately didnt say "helmet" in this context.....).

It has always made people in that getup look a bit bobble-heady, but thats not FFGs fault.

Looks good to me.

Dont really want him in a firing position as such or anything...he is a commander rather than an actual soldier imo.

To be honest I do find the pose for Veers a bit uninspiring. In this case I think pointing or holding something like binoculars would actually be fitting since he has the Spotter ability. But it really doesn't bother me too much. It looks like he's got all the appropriate details though as far as his uniform goes, so I am not sure what makes it so bad in the eyes of the OP.

If you really want FFG to "get it" then you should probably tell them what it is you're actually looking for in a sculpt, instead of vaguely implying that you think it's terrible. The other guy complaining about poses at least offered some examples of what he thought were improvements (ironically I thought most of those examples were awful, even comically so, but hey it was something.)

Also, I seriously doubt that the design team is getting feedback from the forums.

I have no problem with Veers' sculpt. But I would suggest to anyone who does - there are tons more units. Just use Vader as your commander, and maybe skip Veers. Vader is cooler anyway.

I doubt it too, after all the Contact FFG page says, "Fantasy Flight Games does not accept unsolicited game design or development submissions." I just think that if someone is going to criticize something they should offer suggestions for improvement, or admit that they're too ignorant to do so.

If @Deddog or anybody else really wants to make suggestions though this is technically the appropriate place.

not a fan of that left arm, but it should be a rather easy swap. Otherwise it's fine....

When I saw the topic title I thought "wow, is someone already complaining that an unreleased mini is OP?" I guess I'm glad that's not the case. I think Veers looks fine.

Did '1' change his name to 'Deddog'

Think the models looks fine. People forget just how big and silly most imperial helmets were.

Hmm, shouldn’t have posted.

But in response to others.

For me I feel the quality and versatility of miniatures is paramount to locking in my continued custom. I will not buy miniatures just to get an upgrade card (battlefront 2)

I spend a lot of time painting miniatures and I want squads that don’t look the same.

I have pre-ordered the game based on the quality I have initially seen. I am invested so I want to see the high standard continue.

At a glance, the snow troopers seem ok but the Veers miniature is weak. The pose could be better, the holster and pistol are massive and his proportions seem off (stunty).

The concept of Veers speaks more than Vader, so I want him.

I have invested in this game and I want to continue to do so. Is it wrong of me to state an opinion in hopefully a non superior way

Almost as tall as Vader....

I'm pretty sure he has an e-11 not a pistol.
