Can Younster's ability work on the TIE silencer? the faq list the TIE, FO, and the SF, but the silencer is new, and the ship release is after the last FAQ came out.
Youngster and the TIE silencer
Since Youngster's ability only works on ships whose name contains "TIE Fighter" in the title, the answer should be no. The other three all fit the requirements:
- TIE Fighter
- TIE /fo Fighter
- TIE /sf Fighter
Arrgh,
@theBitterFig
ninja'd my edit!
The way titles and cards like Youngster have been ruled is that if the full text such as "TIE Fighter" appear in the ship type, even if there are extra letters like in " TIE /SF Fighter " or " TIE /FO Fighter " then it counts as a " TIE Fighter ".
However, the TIE Silencer doesn't ship name doesn't contain the text "Fighter" so it doesn't count for Youngster.

Agreed, the fact that FFG stated that only ships with with word "Fighter" applied, leads one to reason that the Silencer is not included.
Only way a new ship is included in an old rule such as youngster (or by proxy, docking clamps) is if it is worded the same way and more stuff added on rather than replaced.
Canonically, i
think
all TIE's are technically a TIE Fighter but in the spectrum of this game only the traditional TIE, the /FO variant, and the /SF variant are actually TIE Fighters because its in their name directly.
Silencer does not have "TIE Fighter" in its name so its not one. Any future ship that says "TIE Fighter XYZ" would apply though.
Its a lousy rule loophole that FFG created, whether its intentional or not i dunno.

Probably. Way too many different and agile ship profiles that could combo youngster with ptl/ei to balance.
Edited by RalgonBy the time the silencer is being used he's more of an oldster anyways.

lol, he never really had too much use. And I figured I wouldn't be able to get around it. But I was hoping to use debris gambit, and pair Kylo and Quickdraw together, while giving both evades using Younster's ability. Oh well, I tried. It sound like unless they update the FAQ to include the silencer, I'm out of luck.

They won't.
The TIE Silencer isn't a TIE Fighter in the game's terms. It would require a hard erratum to Youngster's ability to work as you want.
Exactly. The FAQ wasn't " we'll make Youngster's ability work with this ship....and this ship...and this ship...." it was " what counts as a 'TIE fighter' for the purpose of something which says 'TIE fighter only'? ".
The answer was 'anything which has a name which specifically includes 'TIE' and 'Fighter'.
It's the same reason the X-wing and T-70 X-wing both count as 'X-wings' for the purposes of Integrated Astromech, but other ships which can equip astromechs (like the ARC-170 and E-wing) don't and can't.
