With the last Jedi we received, finally, a second Resistance fighter in the RZ-2 A-Wing. An evolved and perfected version of the original RZ-1 we see in use by the Rebel Alliance. It is a similar change as we see in the new T-70 X-Wings from the older X-Wing models. I would like to make a case for this ship to be added in a future wave of the X-Wing game. According to Wookieepedia cannon http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/RZ-2_A-wing_starfighter the RZ-2 is a sleeker, faster, and more evolved A-Wing. It has improved shielding and sensors. I believe this is perfect for an A-Wing revisit akin to the T-70. With the T70 we see that mostly the evolution for from the old X-wing was minimal but it has a big impact while remaining fair. Most of the stats remain mostly the same with shield improving by 1, pilot skills are the same, action bars and upgrades carry over with new additions of Tech upgrades available and the ability to boost; and these small changes come at a 3 point cost addition from the old x-wing equivalents. The same could and should be done with the A-wng, It is even supported by cannon. Simply take the older A-wing increase the cost by 3 points, add an additional shield so they have a base shield of 3 (equal to the T-70), and add Tech to the upgrade bar. I would leave speed the same because the A-wing is already at a 3 speed base, and the A-wing already has a full action bar so it doesn't need any improvements there either. For cards you could release a Talisman Lintra A-wing ship card, a pilot we see in The Last Jedi. She has become a fan favorite being featured in toys and as a playable hero in Battlefront 2 Star fighter Assault. Her A-wing features a new paint pattern in Blue squadron colors. She tends to play support rolls both in the film and in Battlefront. Her ship is know for its concussion missiles. She could easily take the place of the Tycho Celchu ship, with Pilot skill 8, 2 attacks, 3 agility, 2 hull, upgrade to 3 shields, action bar of focus, target lock, boost, and evade, upgrades of elite, missiles, and New Tech, I would the suggest she has some kind of support based ability such as "any friendly unit within 1-2 may add 1 attack die when attacking or 1 agility when defending" something like that. Sorry if this has come off like a rant, I just needed to put this out to people who would maybe see where I'm coming from or might even have better ideas as well. Would love to know what others think about brining an RZ-2 A-wing in a future wave. Cheers!
RZ-2 A-Wing (Resistance A-Wing)
omg, I love A-Wings more than any other ship... but there has to be at least 5 RZ2 A-wing threads in the last two weeks, and I'm sure I started one of them. even the pilot ability was discussed lol
Oh okay, haha Im glad im not the only one who wants this.
Yay let's give it +1 shield make it points inefficient and leave it on the shelf like all the other recycled ships!!!
There's no way we aren't getting this ship. I'm surprised it wasn't part of wave 13 considering that TLJ only has a few new ships.

You think the other recycled ships are shelf sitters? I think you're very wrong there. The TIE/fo is very commonly seen in Omega Leader, while the T-70 sees near constant play through two versions of Poe and Jess Pava.
Granted, in neither case are we talking meta defining frequency, but the T-70 has two ships in the Top 10 of meta wing right now, and the lowest of the pilots mentioned above is PS8 Poe at 26. For comparison, the TIE Advanced Prototype, TIE Defender, YV-666 and YT-1300 all show up at their highest further down the list (The Inquisitor (29), Col Vessery (30), Rey (32) and Bossk (34)).
Those numbers are a snapshot, of course, and they'll move around with the meta. But it's way inaccurate to say those ships don't get used.
If you're talking about generics, I guess, maybe? But the Blue Squadron pilot in particular sees just about as much table time as any generic that can't take harpoons, TLTs or reinforce actions right now. And however a theoretical A Wing mk 2 shakes out in detail, whether it has a bullseye firing arc, or sloops or Talon Rolls, or some kind of special title or whatever, we can predict that at the very least we're going to get a relatively cheap generic rebel ship with boost, a tech slot for Advanced Optics, a Missile slot for Harpoons and almost certainly access to the A Wing Test pilot title. I guarantee you that sees play. Guarantee.

He is convinced that even the
TIE Silencer
isn't good.
It's New Trilogy stuff. He hates literally anything that isn't OT.
A-wings don't need another shield. If anything has to increase it's the amount of red. 3/3/2/2 is fine, with tech to make it TFA era, maybe with some extra greens on the dial but I admit that's asking a lot.
