What's This About Synced Turret Working on a Double-Tap Ghost?

I saw something about people in Europe having great success with the Synced Turret on a double-tap Ghost, ran alongside of the FennBug. Something to do with PS 11 boosting from the bug.

Is this for real? It would be great if there was an alternative, even if it was niche, to TLT and ABT.

Sounds similar to the Herahsoka build that Cal Jones ran in Yavin 2016.

I've never found Synced Turret to be that threatening. The TL requirement makes it really easy to work around.

Hmmmm... but FCS really helps to offset that though.

Only if you have a primary shot to begin with.

Or high ps coord works I suppose.

I could see it working.

Well, the Ghost could work around that cause it can take a FCS. However I do not see this trick being better when just taking the TLT the synced turret trick is limited to in arc ships while a TLT doesn't care about arc and TL and has greater range.

Otherwise bringing Synced Turret to a Black One metagame seems pretty foolish.

Is there a build out there with a Ghost carrying Synced, FCS, and Weapons Engineer? Keeping two TL's active could up its value. I'm not sure it's the wisest way to spend three points, with an extra two giving you TLT... but just throwing it out there.

But I have to admit, on my first glace I was struggling to understand why.

edit: Beat two Black One lists in the top 16 as well (one with Countermeasures on top). Coordinate must have been working overtime!

One of the issues that came up in a match I was watching this weekend is when you kill the ship you have locked mid-round you lose out on your End Phase 2nd shot. So the more ships you are flying against the more likely you are to miss out on bonus shots and fall behind on damage output.

It's the kind of thing which seems fairly nice on paper, but I have doubts for on-table and in particular matchups.

Man! HoCo on Fenn Rau? Wow. That's a lot of token denial there. Fenn zaps a focus with Hotshot Co-Pilot, then can deny other tokens with his ability, while Kanan is denying a bunch of attack dice with focus from both RecSpec and Rey... Hotshot seems like a great meta call with a lot of Poe Dameron out there. And Engine Upgrade on Kanan for high PS coordinate boosts...
