Anyone else reading Forces of Destiny?

Yes, I am a grown man reading a comic book probably aimed at 12 year old girls.

But I just got the first issue, and I have to say, it was really good! There's so much more story in each issue of these more kid-appropriate comics. Most of the Marvel comics only take me a couple minutes to read and I feel ripped off afterwards (the exception being Poe Dameron Comics). I have to say, I'm super happy with this first issue, and I'm really psyched that there's going to be a new one each week!

This week's Leia storyline was great, and I'm looking forward to Rey's comic next week. I think the highlight for the series for me will be Paige and Rose (the fifth and last week's comic). It truly is a magical era in the Star Wars universe, so much cool stuff out there!

Anyone else reading these?

No, I haven’t seen them in my local comic shop yet. I’m curious, are they just adaptations of the animated shorts already released under the “Forces of Destiny” title?

I have been collecting Star Wars Adventures for the same age group. So far they all made me cringe. I kept buying them for my kids, but the last story was so bad I want to cut it off and sell out.

The first one at least seems to be a different storyline than any of the animated shorts.

Although it's by the same publisher as Star Wars Adventures, so maybe if those aren't your thing, these won't be either. The one I read seemed a little more coherent than those though. Also, I think they are canon, so it's worth knowing what's going on in those.

Yes, Star Wars adventures and Forces of Destiny are canon. That’s part of what makes me cringe. There has been some horrid exposition in both the Forces of Destiny animated shorts and the Adventures comics. Some of it is genuinely good, but the bad is too bad to swallow.
