Striking in Silence

By MHamerR8, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I wanted to use the strikers again and since I got the new silencer I figured I would try that as well. But I didn't want to give up the tie sf. It is my favorite ship.

Blackout - trick shot, fcs, at

Backdraft - trick Shot, fcs, left, title

Imperial Trainee - title (x2)

I could use the strikers as blockers and as an annoyance while I have blackout and backdraft kicking around and doing whatever they can do.

Thoughts?

actually I prefer this configuration for black out and co. It works quite well, And I don't like strikers. Set aside the fact that playing a whole first order squadronis quite satysfing for the way I like to play the game

Test Pilot "Blackout" — TIE Silencer 31
Push the Limit 3
Collision Detector 0
Primed Thrusters 1
Autothrusters 2
First Order Vanguard 2
Ship Total: 39

"Omega Leader" — TIE/fo Fighter 21
Juke 2
Comm Relay 3
Ship Total: 26
"Quickdraw" — TIE/sf Fighter 29
Trick Shot 0
Fire-Control System 2
Pattern Analyzer 2
Lightweight Frame 2
Special Ops Training 0

Ship Total: 35

My thoughts turn to using generics to get a fuller upgrade set on all the ships. I'm not sure if Test Pilot Blackout's pilot ability is really worth the cost, and while Backdraft's kinda is, I'm inclined towards better upgrades. I feel like filling the Tech slot on a Silencer is a must, and I've heard good things about the "pure efficiency" version of the Sienar Jaemus Analyst below. I really love the Accuracy Corrector/Sensor Cluster Zeta specialist. Fairly tanky, and I've found the reliable firepower of AccC to be surprisingly good. Lightweight Frame on the Trainees just makes them a bit tougher when they're into range 1, which is where they want to live.

Imperial Trainee (17) Lightweight Frame (2) Adaptive Ailerons (0) [19]

Imperial Trainee (17) Lightweight Frame (2) Adaptive Ailerons (0) [19]

Zeta Specialist (23) [Fire-Control System (2) Advanced Optics (2) Lightweight Frame (2) Special Ops Training (0)] [29] or [Accuracy Corrector (3) Sensor Cluster (2) LWF (2) SOT (0)] [30]

Sienar-Jaemus Analyst (26) Fire-Control System (2) Advanced Optics (2) Autothrusters (2) [32]

You could skip the LWF on the Trainees to upgrade to Backdraft specifically.

So, I second the idea of getting LWF on the Trainees.

I also think that Blackout is best outfitted on a budget with Trick Shot, Collision Detector, Autothrusters, and the title (same points as your build). Primed Thrusters or Pattern Analyzer would be decent additions.

That doesn't quite leave room for Backdraft, but it does leave room for a standard Omega Leader.

If you really want a SF, and also want 4 ships, I would downgrade one Striker to some TIE variant.
