So the MC-75 is relieved and it has what was once an Imperial characteristic of Double Contain (
ISD
and Interdictor). Meanwhile Rebels have 2 ships with double brace one of the best defensive tokens there is (Nebulon-B and Mc 80). So now that the playing field is no longer so even what ship will the imperials get that has two brace tokens?
When will Imperials get Double Brace?
When FFG stops being part of the Rebel Alliance and traitors.
Would you rather have ECM or double brace? I don’t see FFG allowing any double brace ship to have the Defensive Retrofit slot

and seeing as minister tua exists...
The Rebel double-brace ships both want to fight forward and both come with vulnerable side-arcs. Those weaknesses are an important part of what makes their double-brace balanced. I think anything is possible in the game design, but I'd be very wary of what you wish for. You might get that double brace Imperial ship and find that the weaknesses aren't ones you're particularly like. I like Liberties, but the ship has plenty of detractors on the forum. People play the Nebulon-B for Yavaris. You can find Salvation from time to time, but almost no one takes generic Nebulon-Bs or Redemption.

The ISD only has one contain.
You want a ship with double brace 1 shield sides and no redirect,? You can have it ?

Only if It comes with Yavaris title as well;)
No double brace ship has acces to defensive retrofit, so... Everithing comes at a price.
Well imperials are currently one ship behind the Rebels in releases. People speak of the Nebulon being an Imperial ship that had a lot hijacked by the Rebellion from mothball yards etc.
Rather than just giving the empire the Neb, with different titles of course, I'd like to see the empire get the Nebulon B2. Give it slightly different stats/arcs than the classic Neb but keep the same defence tokens.
Given the Imperial sub-theme of messing with their own ships' upgrade slots and defense tokens through other means (Needa, Tua, Chimaera, etc.), I wouldn't be too surprised if there is eventually an option for using a defensive retrofit slot to replace a redirect with a brace or some such (Liberty-ifying the ISD or whatnot), but I'm not holding my breath.
When we get the Venator.

And its disturbingly low hull count of 5. Thats why rebels have double brace....
Both ships with double braces have serious flaws. The Lib has it a bit better than the Neb, but that single redirect often gets overloaded or locked down.

And XI7.
Even wo acc its little better off than a Neb.

The liberty is much better off; It has small, ISD-sized side arcs instead of the ginormous broadsides of the Nebulon-b that make it nigh impossible to avoid flashing that sole shield at the enemy.

Kind of true.
The Neb's arcs are truly laughable, but as a Large base ship the Lib is plenty vulnerable.
Also, the Lib, while plenty fast, maneuvers like a brick.

Just because the Neb is worse doesn't mean the Lib isn't hard off. Very few Liberties make it into the top tier of competitive play for a reason. Luckily, that's likely to change when Drunkle Raddus gets here.

Comments?
I prefer to have a double brace rather than a redirect in a world full of xi7.

Liberty is one of the wrost ship of the rebels. High cost, no firepower, no maneuverability. So why anyone want to play with it???

It's a classic ship, right @Vergilius ?
Aresius has his tongue firmly in cheek, it may not be well enough known, but Aresius is so attached to his liberty he takes it to work with him. Never parted.

Extremely classic. Who wouldn’t want to play a ship the Death Star blows up?
And I’m figured aresius had to be ironic for as longas he’s played one at the level he’s played it at. And double brace is intended to be a kind of counter to xi7. You can almost always name Uber side arcs away from threats, except squadrons, for which you’d better take your own in answer.

I generally call my Uber drivers by their own names, but you do what you have to, pushing LMC80s, I suppose.
