Yeah, but I meant more than normal. There are only three SS on the map. Which means normally, you can only redeploy 3 ships. Having the ability to redeploy your entire fleet after the second player places his completely reverses the point of that segment of the objective. Hence, it's too much of a skew.

Skilled Spacers lets you change out objectives in RAW.

I thought that was Spynets. . .

Nope. Double-checked the rules before I wrote that

Oh, now I get your previous comment.
I think requiring somebody to get SS to offset a boosted Spynet isn't good. I would prefer to keep keep the default Spynet.
No, you're not getting my comment. Skilled Spacers lets you solve the problem of a bad objective selection for your fleet. That's why I was being silly.
Spitballing on rules modifications here. I want to keep the discussion small, so I'm not putting it out in the general Forum. Apologies for butting in on the campaign, but I was butting in on the discussion of rules modifications anyhow!
Two of the problems identified with Corellian Conflict are snowballing and fleets building to 500 points too quickly, so that there's not an interesting build-up period. Instead of allowing fleet size to increase simply by buying additional units and upgrades, each Fleet must pay to increase its cap. Pay one point for every two points that the cap is raised. This means that a successful fleet has to burn some of its advantage just to grow. That keeps the size of the fleets closer for longer. It makes the evolution of the fleets more gradual. This leads to a more longer, more interesting period in which the fleets are not optimized.
Edited by elbmc1969The freedom fighters are ready for the next turn. After a gathering the mighty three are up for some trouble again.
As promised, a little report from the match: Sloane vs. Ackbar.

"
How could this happen
".
Rae Sloane asks this to herself for some time now. It is late, but she just cannot find any way to sleep. Always the same questions. What went wrong, who betrayed them.
How could this happen.
The trap was perfectly set up. The scouts reported that the enemy fleet near raiders point was split up. The single MC30 was far away from the rest of the fleet.
The fleet came out of hyperspace at the right place and the MC30 was right where it should have been.
The fighters were launched and the order was given. "Hunt down this Mon Calamari Frigate". The remaining Rebel ships, a MC80 Command Cruiser and a CR90a were on the far edge of the Nebula that is all over the raider's point system. Too far away to help the Frigate at all. This was an easy catch.
Than it happened. The frigate vanished. It disappeared and came back right next to the rest of the rebel fleet.
Warning lamps were flashing on the bridge of the Command ship all over. New commands were given. It all became a chaos within seconds. The nebulon outspark was disrupting the communication. It took too long to give out new orders. The fighter pilots were following their last order, to get this frigate.
Rae looked out of the window in her quarter. Watching the stars. Hoping that these will distract her a bit from the endless same questions. It does not work. The questions remain.
"What went wrong".
And from time to time the fear how Thrawn will react to this news. Or even worse, how will Lord Vader respond. This fear finally was able to wipe the questions away. At least for a second.
With this sudden change of thinks, Rae Sloane could only watch. She saw how the Fighters were flying away from their Quasar carrier. The carrier following the Fighters, The Raider turning around, as well following the last order to get this MC30.
Now she had to react fast.
"Move into attack position, get this Rebel scum".
There is no turning back now.
6 of the best imperial squadrons were under her command. And a mercenary. Even when she ask herself why the Imperial forces are trusting this scum she has to admit that his ability is impressive. This ugly human in his strange Jumpmaster.
All she could do now is to listen to the reports from the Pilots.
"Going into attack position", "attacking target", "shields are flickering".
For a short moment the Imperial admiral was thinking that all goes well.
And just another of this unanswered questions. "Why could we not see them coming. Who manipulated our sensors". But the only answer was silence.
Rae tried to take a rest. But she could not. Always this serious question. Who can she trust. Who is the spy that ruined everything.
But now they came. They were hidden in the dust fields and masked from the sensors. 4 full squadrons of Corellian light freighter. Supported by some some Rebel fighters. Only this rebel scum can use civilian ships in a combat. How pitiful.
They came over the imperial aces like a locust swarm.
Black Squadron was the first victim of this coward tactic.
The attack on the Mon Cal Frigate came to an sudden stop. The fighters were busy with the dogfight, and giving the MC30 the time to get away. Doing a sharp turn, and taking cover behind the MC80 battleship.
The whole battle evolved into a Fighter battle. All Sloane could do is to watch and hope that her pilots will come out victorious out of this mess. There was no way to tell whos squadrons were dying out there. They were way to small, and it was way to far away. But she saw the explosions. And each of these tiny explosions was one of their or her own pilots that died out there.
The duty is going to start soon. And Rae will have to give report and justify her actions. "It was not this bad" she tried to persuaded herself. "our losses were acceptable". But this standard is not what Thrawn or Vader will accept. "If i could only find out who this traitor is, this will help me get a better position".
Beside all the losses of her Fighters it didn't look this bad. The fighters on both sides became less and less. Only a handful starfighter were left, and still hunting each other.
But the Imperial Star Destroyer, that served as her Flagship, was in direct attack for the Flagship from the Rebels. The mighty firepower from this Star Destroyer will take down such an inferior capital ship like an old Mon Calamari Star Cruiser. She was sure about this.
But than everything went down again. This was not just an old Star Cruiser. It was THE Star Cruiser. The famos Home One. And the legendary Admiral Ackbar himself was on board.
And another though came of for Sloane. How could we have missed this. How could this information get lost in the perfect system of the Imperial Intel. How many Spies do we have in this fleet, that this much could go wrong. "I wil have to talk to the ISB. They have to explain themselves" he said into the empty room, more to herself than to anyone else.
The Raider was able to catch up with the damaged Frigate. But this one was anything but running anymore. It turned around and, combined with the Turbolasers from the Home one, impaled the small Imperial corvette. Fingers of red bolts were hitting the Raider. One after another until they finally cut through. The corvette just vanished into a red and yellow ball of fire. This accuracy of this untrained Rebel crew shocked Sloane.
"Get us out of here! We cannot stand against this Flagship" was all she could say. This is a shame. The Target direct in the front, so near she could touch it already. But all she could do is to lower the damage done to her fleet, and just get all out. Only 3 squadrons made it nearly at reasonable strength back. The rest was so badly decimated that it will cost some time to replace these losses.
When Rae was going to the bridge she nearly trip over an Astromech, who was moving down the hallway.
"Stupid C1 unit, watch where you move" she barked toward the small droid. The C1 quickly moved away and around the corner like hit by a Wampa.
Just a small thought went through her head "Why are we still using these old models. They should have been scrapped long ago". But right after this all focus is back to the single question that was keeping her awake all night. "Who is this traitor...".
Empire has built bases on Forvand (Vader) and Polanis (Thrawn).
I'm assuming the rebels have a Presence at Raider's Point?
Start of r2 map:
Empire has the following resources handed out:
Sloane: 54
Thrawn: 55+4
Vader: 55
Refit is 45 each.
We should be ready to post our fleets.
For r2 Rebs have 1 Diplomat, 1 Spacer, 2 Spies. Empire has 1 Spy and 1 Spacer.
(assuming Reb presence at Raider's Point)
I've updated the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Tupl6fpZifWgd7FIvcuzsP-EQU-wFfkxcpIjsPR9oX8/edit?usp=sharing
Note that it doesn't say if the Presence at Raider's point is a base or outpost, so the Rebel resource estimate for r2 might be off.

I suggest the rebels make a copy of this, if they haven't already, to record that.
I was already afraid is feared all off with the short report.
Yes, Rebels have a presence at Raider's point.
For Resources these were handed out:
Ackbar: 51
Sato: 51
Mon Mothma: 51+4
Refit is as well 45 for us.
There is one question that came up when we were picking our targets. And i need to see if i understand our so well defined house rules right
.
The Rebel Special Assault was replaced with the show the force one (with stations called transports...). But the place they have to be done are the same as they were earlier? On the Hyperlane route? While the imperials do a Show the Force outside of the hyperlane route?
I have no idea...

The point of having the same special assault was to even things up, that means the target rules should be the same for both sides

Ok, so Special Assault is now the same? With effectively Show of Force being used?
Only difference is where they must be declared (standard rules). Should not be a problem for either side; lots of unclaimed planets.
Also, no bases/outposts after special assaults.
On 2/15/2018 at 9:41 AM, Green Knight said:And I STILL am not sure about special resource rules:
- YARDS: unchanged - this is certain
- DIPLOMATS: can block any (ie one with a base/outpost/presence) non-diplomat planet
- SPIES: unchanged - there was a proposal they double in value, but was this ever actually settled???
- SPACERS: can give +4 resources to any player (or combination of players), but is this as an alternative to the basic effect, or instead of ???
Special assaults:
- not in r1
- otherwise unchanged??? or was there some changes after all???
And so, I present, the special rules that I now hope are the right ones?
Special assaults:
Note to self: next time I do CC, I will write a draft of special rules beforehand, in a nice, shiny pdf format
I think the Imp team is now just waiting for Broba to decide on his r2 fleet. Then we should be good to go.
Sorry had a regionals today. Ill have it in the next 12 hours, and we can be ready to play monday, so plan assaults within the next 24 hours.
