Double Resistance Bombers in action

Took my double Starfortress build for a spin.

I've been toying with a few B/SF and Nym builds, and I think the double-Bomber is rather relegated to Epic due the points requirements. Unfortunately. Although the model is absolutely appropriate to Epic - two or three of those creeping across the map, slinging bombs out the front, will be a thing of beauty.

What was your feel for this build following this game? Do you think it has potential, flown a little differently? Or is it just not quite there? Or will you be recording an analysis and I just have to wait for your thoughts, ha ha?

Any time one of these things goes down, all craft within 1 range of it should have to roll three attack dice for damage to simulate what happens on-film. :-P

I feel like the Bomber is best kept in casual friendly formats, like friendly games and Epic games. I just don't think it's going to be competitive enough. At least for now. Maybe it'll have the magic combination of stuff to become amazing some day - like a System upgrade that gives you bonus attack dice when firing out of arc... or something... but for now it feels more like a "fun" ship than a strong competitor.

It's strengths are the blocking ability though. I suppose if you absolutely wanted to make it more competitive the idea would be to treat it exactly like a blocker. Anti Pursuit Lasers and all that.

It's a shame that large ships are so hard to implement at this scale (even a Nebulon frigate would be larger than the standard 3x3 board at 1/270). Large, hardened targets like capital ships are what craft like the TIE bomber, Gunboat, K-wing, and B/SF are SUPPOSED to be dealing with.
