Silencer build is awesome

By Noobninja1, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have changed my silencer build.

I really liked fire control system and threat tracker (ptl, title, at) it worked like I expected and I used it constantly.
Last night I played Advanced sensors and primed thrusters instead and it made a huge difference. Suddenly the silencer was all over the place and completely unpredictable.
I could plan a move and then just completely alter where I originally wanted to go once the silencers activation phase came around. Arc dodging and setting up the perfect shot all at once.

Totally awesome build.

I had so much fun with this list. Vader is freaking awesome. But he definitely needs to boost, twin ion engine is not worth it.

Omega Leader did exactly what she was meant to. Kept his aggressors busy for two rounds till she ezploded.

Blackout needs work, or maybe I make him Soontir. I don't know, seemed like an expensive do nothing. Shoot through an obstacle and your opponent gets an extra green and then loses 2 green... Meh. He got to do it once and it barely made a dent.
Primed thrusters are amazing. As I explained above totally worth it

Here's my list

P. OL' blackout Vader (100/100)
===============================
"Test Pilot "Blackout"
+ Push the Limit
+ Advanced Sensors
+ Primed Thrusters
+ First Order Vanguard
+ Autothrusters (42)
Omega Leader
+ Juke
+ Comm Relay (26)
Darth Vader
+ Veteran Instincts
+ TIE/x 1
+ Twin Ion Engine Mk. II
+ Advanced Targeting Computer (32)

My thoughts are drop ptl on blackout and ion engine on Vader to get engine upgrade on Vader

I agree that Advanced Sensors and Primed Thrusters give the silencer incredible maneuverability, especially with that awesome dial. At pilot skill 7, is Blackout able to make the most of that in terms of arc dodging or is he moving too early? If you were dropping push the limit to get engine upgrade on Vader, I guess you could add adaptability to get him up to 8 at least.

Or trick shot, to complement his pilot ability?

I went trick shot. I played vs Vader, and though I ended up losing I don't feel like pilot skill was the deciding factor in my loss. In fact I can point to three deciding factors in the game where I made HUGE mistakes that lost me one ship after another.

I have tried to put kyren lo in the game but he's just a few points too expensive to for what I got.

Next Friday I play again and I am excited to try out the tweeked version of the list. Hopefully I won't make as many mistakes and win a couple of rounds

Good luck! :)

I like the list concept, but I agree, Vader needs to boost. You could fit that by using Trick Shot, which I ALWAYS encourage on Blackout, who is in fact a very potent pilot. You could even downgrade further to Collision Detector instead of Adv. Sensors, but thats personal choice.
