Kessel Run Confirmed, and New Vehicles

By Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, in X-Wing

Literally the same week we heard that a Han Solo movie would be an anthology film there was conjecture about seeing this iconic back story about the Millennium Falcon.

The reports are coming in:

We get to see the Kessel run!

Thanks to LEGO we get confirmation that that leaked poster was real and get to see some other vehicles as well.

Now who do you think gets to do the record for the Run? Han or Lando?

My guess is that the new look is a retrofit designed for making the Kessel Run.

I've heard two release dates for the movie: late May or mid July. I wonder which is correct.

I'm hearing May. I'd believe it too given the Lego leaks, they always come around a good 4-5 months before the films.

Man, theres so many parsecs left until May :o

On one hand, cool. On the other ... I don't need another fat turret for Scum or Rebels.

May 25, 2018, shooting for the the anniversary of A New Hope.

I posted about this in the other thread, the nose of the falcon should be about 10 studs wide, going by the top. The front shows pieces equalling about 6 studs. Lego studs are all the same, barring junior/duplo, meaning there is a discrepancy due to size.

At least, that is how it looks to me.

Looking at proportions it is clear that the Falcon got a nose job. If they merely closed the clamp/claw/gap at its "normal" position it would've looked too blunt so they extended it forward. I like what they've done.

Yeah, that was already pretty clear from the larger pictures of the ship from the artwork. It's not just 'filling the gap', but actually 'extending' the nose a lot. It looks almost twice as long, nearly, as the version of the Falcon we're used to.

and torpedo's!!

Here are some better images, My old eyes can see the smaller shorter cargo module attached, and how it will attach lego wise to the revamped Force Awakens 75105 Lego Millenium Falcon.

A scum Han, Lando and scum Paul Bettany and Woody Harrelson characters, among others as crew. I would be fine with that.

I like it. It keeps things fresh, and as everyone has pointed out, these ships were modified at lot.

As far as the game goes, I actually prefer this new look to simply getting a Stellar Envoy repaint.

The best thing about a new Han movie is that we will finally get a Fett worth flying(Hopefully). My favourite character has been collecting dust for far too long.

Sadly the best Boba Fett moment was from an unfunished episode of Clone Wars, in which he has a showdown with Cad Bane... it explains the ‘dent’ in his helmet.

MFW FFG isn't told anything about the ships in the new movies because of fear of leaks while LEGO can leak the whole plot of the movie.

I'm sure LEGO makes Disney a ton more money than FFG, so they probably just roll with it.

So thats what the falcon loked like before Han messed it up. ?

What ya know

It acctualy looks corellian ?

Been hoping they would re-release an Imperial lego TIE fighter... :D

And it's got a Han in imperial uniform mini-fig. Either he's in disguise or that part of his pre-Dis backstory has remained intact. I'm also loving the two droids with the Falcon set - are we getting some version of Bollux back in the canon?

If Han is a TIE fighter pilot at the beginning of the film I would be so stocked for that!

Can anyone make out the names of the leftmost three figs on the Falcon box? I think one starts with the word 'Kessel' - Kessel Soldier maybe? And the red droid starts with Imperial something? I am loving the "Gonk"/R5 look of the other droid, but can't make out its designation either (zooming in just blurs everything for me).

I maintain that Han Solo's history is more interesting off-screen. "You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon? ... It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs." WOW! What is the Kessel Run? Making the Run in 12 parsecs must be such a feat that it has made the Falcon famous! How, what, were, why ... are all questions that you yourself have created an answer for. In your noggin you have created a mini story around this event. Your story is interesting to you, relevant to you, adheres to your SW canon, etc.

What we'll see is some other fella's view, de-authenticating your emotional investment into this trilogy. We now have a little less attachment to the universe because what was uniquely ours has now been stripped.

This is where the original trilogy shone. It gave so many hints to a greater universe and let us fill in the blanks.

Tarkin, a Smelly Story.

"My favorite story about the EU is sadly apocryphal, but it's too amusing not to share. When Princess Leia first meets with Grand Moff Tarkin, she sneers at him, "Governor Tarkin, I should have expected to find you holding Vader's leash. I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board."

The way the account went is that there was allegedly this story where the author established that Tarkin suffered from "Tarkin's Syndrome", a disease that caused him to exude terrilbe body odor. Again, it's not true, there is no such story, but that's the kind of literal-minded explanations for things that don't need explaining that you find in the EU."

Personally, I like the idea in the original script, that Solo was just making stuff up to impress what he thought were a couple of yokels. There probably is no Kessel Run, and he was talking about "muffler bearing" when he mentioned parsecs.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/muffler_bearing

""It's the ship that made the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs!"
Ben reacts to Solo's stupid attempt to impress them with obvious misinformation."
