How will force powers be represented?

By Deuce11, in Star Wars: Legion

Move, shoot, charge.... yeah we know how to do that. But what about force powers?! Run, jump, push, choke, deflect, ... dare I say, "projection"?...

How will these things play out?

I supposed it might just be Legion's version of a magic phase, but it could be so much more!

Force jump is an action on luke. Force push and choke are upgrade cards. They are exhaustable free actions.

So there is an Idea.

Deflect is also an ability we already have rules for. It looks like a mix of upgrade cards and innate abilities on the units card.

and then there's Vader, who can ready 1 force power from exhausted per turn for free.

Auto dodge on activation anyone?

Deflect(in game) isn't 100% a force power, it is more like parrying blaster bolts. Yes the intuition that the force provides helps but blaster bolts don't travel very fast so anyone good with a weapon capable of doing so could have the deflect keyword.

Please don't, FFG. If I want a tabletop degenerating into MtG, I can play Warmachine.

I gotta say, when I read the title of this thread my first thought was "well...you could represent a force push/throw by using a hairdryer towards the targeted mini..."

True, it could be used elsewhere. But it’s one of the powers he explicitly mentioned, so was just pointing out the current implementation.
