Are the acrylic laser cut obstacle tokens,(asteroid/debris) tokens legal to play with? *I hope this is not considered “click-bait”. I apologize in advance if it is.
Acrylic token question.
If your opponent agrees, then I suppose, as it would fall under any other third party component.
That being said, they are actually detrimental to play and I tend to not allow them. Ships sometimes end up overlapping obstacles, and the acrylic are much thicker than the standard cardboard ones. In these cases, it's much harder to get an accurate placement when a base is skewed on a thick acrylic obstacle.
No.
Laser cut obstacles and bombs are not tournament legal.
(Unofficial ones, anyway. Official prize ones are fine.)
Edited by thespaceinvaderFor official tournament play, you can only use the FFG official obstacles, per the Tournament Regulations (see pages 8-10). Currently, the only FFG official obstacles are the cardboard ones.
Obstacles are classified as "Essential Tokens" and so are restricted to FFG official tokens only (bomb tokens and ship tokens are the only other "Essential Tokens") - all other tokens can be substituted with 3rd party tokens, assuming the Marshall doesn't have an issue with them.
