Table size

By ScottGilbert25, in Runewars Rules Questions

Has anyone tried playing on a 6*4 Table? Want to know if it changes the game dramatically?

--- I didn't read the question properly and made a fool out of myself ---

I thought 6x3 was the official size?

It is, I apologise. I didn't read properly and just assumed that's what you were referring to! I myself have never thought about playing on a battleground that measured 6x4, I don't think I ever will.

Is playing on 6x4 a common thing? I have no idea. Hopefully someone can answer your question.

It just makes the beginning go slower as it takes longer to engage.

If you don't alter the deployments, you'll need to increase the number of rounds. If you do change the deployments to start as close as you do in the standard game, it defeats the purpose of a larger field. I think I wouldn't mind 6'x4' with custom deployments and larger army size. It would take a long time, though.

Agree, you'd need another round, at minimum, maybe 2.

I'd like to try a 400 point 10 round game on a 6x4. It would allow for some fun strategies, being able to hold entire reserve units back until later turns. Waiqar with maro would be awesome.

We played a match on a 6' x 4' recently, and yeah it just took longer to engage. 10 rounds felt about right. I can imagine it might upset the game balance though (e.g. armies that like to rack up inspiration before engaging, or Ambush Predator).

I would absolutely love to see a 400pt game on a 6' x 4' though :-)

Dunno about RW but we normally play up to 2000 points of 40K on 6x4s; in fact, I have 3 platforms we use for demos and tourneys in my garage.

Yeah that is the most common size at any game store since it is what both warhammers use. It is nice for FFG games like RW and Armada because you have an extra 6in on each side for your cards.

Oh and warmachine/hordes uses 4x4, so the 3ft thing was something X-wing really brought about.
