Wide Area Sato

By shmitty, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I was thinking with Wide Area Barrage you will want to use several copies to maximize the impact of the splash damage. So, I think I can modify my TF:A Sato fleet to take advantage of that.

Points: 397/400
Commander: Commander Sato
Assault Objective: Station Assault
Defense Objective: Contested Outpost
Navigation Objective: Salvage Run

[ flagship ] Modified Pelta-class Assault Ship (56 points)
- Commander Sato ( 32 points)
- Raymus Antilles ( 7 points)
- Projection Experts ( 6 points)
- External Racks ( 3 points)
- Shields to Maximum! ( 6 points)
= 110 total ship cost

Hammerhead Torpedo Corvette (36 points)
- Task Force Antilles ( 3 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Wide Area Barrage ( 2 points)
= 45 total ship cost

1 Tycho Celchu ( 16 points)
1 Han Solo ( 26 points)
1 Shara Bey ( 17 points)

1 Hera Syndulla ( 28 points)

2x Y-Wings (20 Points)

The objectives all try to force my opponent to group up their ships for maximum splash damage potential.

Probably more fun than good.

Splash damage will definetly be fun, but i think in a list like this, with small ships throwing a small amount of dice, APT would be more crippleing for your opponent

Well... probably youll have to borrow WAD, as you wont buy 4 mc75, I guess. Id build around MC75 ord this sort of list.

Very true. I've actually been using ACMs to great effect with this fleet. The hope would be in handing out enough splash damage to make up the difference while also saving 12 points over APTs or 20 over ACMs.

Get rid of han and hera, add 5 Awings?

I mean youve got sato and only really have tycho and shara to trigger him. How has the hera/han combo been working?

Absolutely amazing. Han and Hera have Rogue + Grit. They go where I need them. Han can move at the end of one turn with Rogue and the start of the next with Grit. Always in position for the first round of Sato fire. Hera helps me get the most out of Tycho and Shara by granting them rogue.

I just added the Y-Wings with the points gained by dropping from ACMs to WAB. Those could be replaced with A-Wings for speed, but I figured on needing the hull more than the speed. All 3 of my objectives force the action in a particular spot which really help setup Sato.

Fair enough, not the way i would go but if it works. It works :)
