I find this entire topic incredibly confusing.
After 4 playthroughs of FotFF ...
Firefly, another HotE playthrough much delayed with new year and Homebrew campaign using an enhanced IA.
BLOODBOWL!

I'm curious. Descent hasn't released anything new, has it? I'm curious what makes it more attractive to play than repeat plays of IA? I never played Descent, so I'm curious why there is replay-ability there by not in IA.

I've played FotFF 4 times, 3 of which were solo. So I wanted to finish the Seeds of Corruption Descent Road to Legend campaign that I stopped for IA.
They both have a lot of replayability. Descent was my first major "All-in" game. I own everything and have had it all professionally painted. I just got into it when Road to Legend was announced.
Now I also just got into IA when the App was first hinted in 2016. I have since purchased and had painted all of the expansions and figure packs.
Cheers.

Great answer I appreciate it. I was just wondering if Descent did something differently that made it something you wanted to return too. I can definitely see returning to another game.

It has a lot more released campaigns in it's app right?

After 4 playthroughs of fotff ... I'm staring FFG website refreshing the news page until I see an update for the app?

That’d be the one; I just finished painting up the Klingons.
From the looks of it, all expansion material is in the Descent app already, right?
I just started getting into it too (bought and started painting Core last week). I kinda wish the minis were IA scale, but that would probably be impractical given how many more massive units there are than IA.
Any suggestions on what I should get next? I have Shadows of Nerekhall and Labyrinth coming soon, but I'm really intrigued by the hero/monster packs, too. Seems like most of the more interesting heroes and monsters are in them, instead of boxed expansions.

Yes, all content is in the app.
I would recommend getting the boxed expansions first to get the extra class cards etc. Then the H&M packs.
Good luck on your journeys in the dark!

Thanks! Ah yeah, classes is a good thought.
By the way, I like the class system in Descent significantly better than in IA.
It takes my players a long time to choose heroes in IA before a campaign. Like, we literally have a "Pre-Campaign" party where I lay out all heroes and Class decks, and all allies, and the Rebels choose what they want. It takes a crazy long time. We usually don't even play a mission that night.
With IA, I could easily just ask my players to choose what archetype they were interested in and immediately reduce their options by 75%. Then, when it came to actually choosing the heroes, they'd only have to really look at the hero card.
Also, while the Heroic feats are important, I think that separating the class system from the hero allows for players to choose their character and still include aesthetic in mind. For instance, Biv is a really cool mini and all, but his class is apparently pretty sub-par. If you could give Biv a better class and only have the abilities on his sheet be subpar, well obviously that wouldn't be most strategic decision, but it wouldn't decide the campaign at its start, either.
I agree wholeheartedly.
Also, I think that the app chooses heroes to be affected by events by the attributes. So what I have done is proxy Conversion Kit heroes into RtL by selecting a 2nd Ed. hero with the same Attributes/Archetype. Seems to work ok.

Do a 'Stand up' action on it
I hadn't checked the dates. I watch most of my YT videos on my Xbox One X.

Haha, unfortunately that isn't very likely.
I'll probably write an article about it (or many) once I get a better feel of how it plays!
