Battlelore Miniatre Quality

By Trump281, in Battlelore

I just got the Dragon expansion for my birthday. These are some really nice sculpts so maybe that's why they cost more than other stuff from FFG? And I don't know a lot about plastic, but I think these are made of a different plastic than FFG's minis too. And... this has nothing to do with price... Battlelore uses a nice beige plastic so that even unpainted the minis look good. FFG has YET to figure this out. Sure, some of their games (RuneWars) need different colored pieces to distinquish who owns what, but what about the heroes seen in all of their Rune games - Dark grey where detail does NOT stand out. And whoever made the color choices for the Descent minis should be fired. Light beige and red just look absolutely AWFUL. Those minis scream to be painted just to protect your eyes. At least Dooms minis are not so hard to look at. Now that FFG will be REALLY taking over what comes out for Battlelore, I wonder at the future miniature quality.

Yeah I noticed the quality of the plastic too, seemed to have some 'heft' to them, I quite liked them, bit of green stuff to fill in the cracks and they should paint up really well (now if only I could paint...)
