Unconfirmed Range [Sniper] Trooper from LEGO for Solo A Star Wars Story
Possible New Stormtrooper in Solo A Star Wars Story
Looks like he has armor comparable to a scout. No leg protection.
That's meant to be this guy isn't it?
He's an Imperial Range Trooper I believe.

(OUTDATED AND INCORRECT)
Edited by Indy_comMissed sentence. also this is outdated. (does anyone even read this section.)
Nice new image of the imperial riding mower!
Yeah, what's he doing? Paining the white lines for the annual Imperial softball game?
Seriously though, I would expect every new movie two have at least one new Storm Trooper type, Tie type, Droid type, and planet at the very least. They are in the business to make money and they do very well with creating demand for other products outside the movies.

And with every new movie the fanboyz will moan and whinge asking why weren't these new stormtroopers, TIEs or driods seen in the original trilogy, no continuity, ruining MY STAR WARS WHAAAAAAAAA!!!!.....
*cough*
Um..sorry..just ah, getting that out there. Kind of over that aspect of being a Star Wars fan.
True.
Though I will admit I thought it was odd for Rouge One to have Shore Troopers yet judging by the OT, regular Stormies were ok in the Forest and Desert. But the more I thought about it, the Shormies (see what I did there?) had regular Storm Troopers mixed in so you could argue that there are in fact Forest and Dessert kitted/camo troopers that we just didn't happen to see them in the OT. But I can see how that might upset some purists. Not that there is anything wrong with wanting to keep things as they were in 77' but that just isn't the best marketable approach in my opinion.
.....love them STORMIES!!!....

He will cut down the Rebellion, then bag those clipping, trim the hedge, and replace the broken sprinkler head by the Tarkin lawn gnome.
I saw some leaked photos of the new solo Lego sets. It looks like the imperial lawnmower is actually a speeder bike! I'm guessing they just remove the wheels in post.
They really should have real life floating speeders by now

To be fair we did have Sandtroopers in Episode IV. They are a specialized variant of The Galactic Empire's Stormtroopers, and were a trained in beast riding, heavy field weaponry, survival and could operate without support and supply for extended periods of time.
They (like Biker Scouts) were also supposed to be more idependent thinking than standard Stormtroopers.
Regarding Coastal Defender Stormtroopers, more commonly known as Shoretroopers, they are trained and equipped for combat in tropical environments.
Stationed at the top secret Imperial security complex on the tropical planet Scarif, Shoretroopers patrolled the beaches and bunkers of the facility. Shoretroopers operated effectively as Sergeants which allowed them to command small squads of regular Stormtroopers.
One of the notable aspects of Coastal Defender Stormtroopers was that the position they serve in was rotational (temporary); subject to rank (skills and qualification) and operational demands (open positions due to mobilization or transfers). On a galactic scale, Shoretroopers as a whole were scarce, as the conditions for necessitating their employment were less frequent, as few stations or garrisons were located on coastal/tropical planets.

True story, in the novel Shadows of Empire, The Emperor has his favorite Chief gardener assassinated because the man accepted a job offer from Prince Xizor.
Great ... another Tie Fighter set ... to go with every other Tie Fighter set I own and have built. Life, death, taxes and me buying Lego TIE sets ... What are guaranteed events?
Lego's images seem to always trickle out just a tiny bit, as it relates to their SW products. Thanks for sharing this. I thank you. My wallet thanks you.
WHAT THE **** HAVE THEY DONE TO THE FALCON!
Looks like a Yt-1300/2000 hybrid monstrosity

Saw this today!

Because their camo was THAT good!
(especially the troopers disguised as meringues)
Edited by ABXYWhy do we need to have new stormtrooper types (with specialised training etc) to explain every differing type of armour/gear? Why can't they just be "stormtroopers" but in different specialised gear? It is always how I considered "sandtroopers" and "snowtroopers." Shoretroopers don't even make any sense... how specialised can "shore fighting" even be that they require a whole specialist section devoted to it? Do you have different grades which tell you how deep water you can wade in? Do standard stormtroopers need to wear armbands whenever deployed in shallow water?
Scout troopers at the very least seem to deploy alongside stormtroopers, and it is a specialist role that makes sense,
And what the **** does a "range trooper" even do? Work on the open range? Cowboy troopers?
I thought it was Fringe Trooper, which would make more sense
"Shoretroopers" have a pretty misleading name. They are actually specialised for tropical warfare apparently, which is why they wear lighter and more flexible armour. They are still Stormtroopers (just like Snowtroopers etc are), but it seems to be Imperial practice (even if unofficially) for them to get easy to sue names like that.
Frankly, it's just easier to say than "A unit of Stormtroopers that have extra tropical warfare training and different armour designed to work better in their environment".

Lego's product leaks are either by design or the have a major problem on their hands. Not sure if they are sly like fox or dumb like turkey.
Not sure what a Range Trooper does. Given the design and armor, looks like he is in the business of ill intent and punch first/ask questions second

Unconfirmed Range [Sniper] Trooper from LEGO for Solo A Star Wars Story
UPDATE:
This guy is NOT a Range Trooper.
They are infact a Patrol Trooper.
No Lego Range Trooper Minifig has surfaced so far.
Thank you for reading the update.
....stormies here.....stormies there....stormies everywhere!!!....
And, of course, Stormtroopers have specialised all-plastic armour and rubber-soled footwear... for extra safety during an inevitable lightning strike.
