Mon Calamari Exodus Fleet question

By fab74, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi,

Do you have any idea about the type of upgrade this card is ? Is it a Title upgrade or something else ? From my point of view it is not a Title but perhaps I am wrong, but I would like to know what you think about that ?

In order to upgrade my Fleet generator...( http://armada.fabpsb.net/gindex.php) ;-)

bye

Yeah, this is a title upgrade. It fits on any Rebel ship that begins with MC (30, 80, 75)

It is a generic title that is able to be used across multiple different ships. Specifically, as Jaunty said, the MC80 Home One, MC80 Liberty, the MC30, and the MC75 can use it.

Also worth nothing that it's non-unique, like the Hammerhead Task Force titles.

Ok, many thanx for your quick replies !

Seems the word "title" was left off the card......

No title is labelled as such. They've all previously used a silhouette of the applicable ship as their icon.

This is probably a dumb question... you can only have 1 title correct? You can’t have both profundity and exodus fleet right?

Correct. This means that running this fleet wide means your 30's will be giving up Foresight and Admonition and your 80's are giving up Defiance and Home One... well... and Independence, but I don't know that it counts as giving it up if you were never going to take it anyway.

Titles have always been represented by that bottom-left wide box with the silhouette of what ship can use it, and so in this case as they are multiple the box contains “mc”

Right, so there is no good way of knowing outside of being a major geek. Just doesn't take much to communicate clearly. Putting down Title - "MC" only clears everything up, putting "mc" in aurebesh - not so much. Yeah, people who play the game a lot can stop and think about it for a second and figure it out. Really shouldn't be necessary.

It will have the title symbol on the back of the card. Let's calm down

Only one title for now . If you wait for an X Wing style fix.

Say you resolve a token command and a dial command for engineering. Can you exhaust the title on two ships, one for each resolving of the command (once for the dial and once for the token)?

No, because resolving a dial and a token is only one resolution of the command.

RRG Page 4 "Commands"

• A ship can spend both a command dial and a command token to combine their effects. Doing so counts as a single resolution of the command. For example, a ship can increase its speed twice by spending a M command dial and a M command token.

*Looks around*... I mean... we are all on a forum about plastic toy spaceships and pew-pew dice...

But @Tirion is completely right. The upgrade type is always denoted by the back of the card in addition to the bottom left-hand corner image. In fact, the logo used on the card back to denote "title" has Aurebesh on it as well.

Can you seriously read aurebesh? I mean it is one thing to know what it is, it is another to actually read it. Yeah, we are all geeks but we aren't speaking klingon here either.

It really requires little effort to put "title" on the card. The back does have the symbol, so that is something. FFG has systemic problems with clear communication, so this is just yet another instance. Not flaming or anything, just disappointed.

Only know they wrote MC in aurebesh cos people pointed it out actually, but there is no other upgrade that uses that rectangle on the bottom I think

I'd love for the MonCal Ships to both use a title and be part of the Exodus Fleet, but the hidden card in the top left on the preview actually has the title card design on the back of the card.

Could it be generally said that the hidden cards are duplicates? I get the feeling that how that works.

No. Quite often we have had unknown cards kept hidden until actual release...

And I mean, take the MC75 above.

It has an officer face down.

both officers shown are unique.

no point to having one of those Be duplicate ?

Ah well that dose add some spice to the anticipation.

Hello,

the new cards from "Profundity" preview had been added to Fab's fleet generator => http://armada.fabpsb.net/gindex.php

Just a thought here. While it would be simple to put this under title and FFG could have been clearer, this is an upgrade unlike any we hae ever seen before. the Hammerhead task forces work only for other hammerheads. These "MC" titles can be used on 4 different kinds of ships. that's unheard of and also really cool. just food for thought.

Below is text on how the article describes the Profundity TITLE upgrade. Notice how they specifically call it a title.

Below is all of the text discussing the exodus upgrade. Not once do they refer to it as a title upgrade. They call it an upgrade. They intentionally did not call it a title:

Finally, you can build an entire fleet of Mon Calamari ships and take advantage of their similar design by equipping your “MC” ships with the Mon Calamari Exodus Fleet upgrade. Hearkening back to the Mon Calamari flight from their homeworld after Imperial occupation, you can use this upgrade to boost your ships’ engineering points and repair your fleet. So long as you have plenty of Mon Calamari ships in your fleet, it’s certainly worth considering if you want to declare that your fleet is a detachment of the Mon Calamari Exodus Fleet.
