Great to see a second video, I love your work. I'm using your IA Stormtrooper guide to learn to paint - I picked up a few practice IA troopers to prepare for legion.

Looking forward to more videos from you. Also, in regards to the new Rebel video, its nice to see the pieces apart, as well as how they easily snap together!

I'm doing exactly the same! How are your Stormtroopers going?

@Sorastro I loved the forest camo technique. Borrowing that one! ;)

Hey Sor, can I ask... how do you get your hands on these before they come out?

Ffg asks him to do the series?

Hi Lord Ashram! Yes, Ralgon is correct; I was invited by FFG to work on the game early so that as soon as the game hits the shelves there will already be a full set of painting tutorials ready to go (rather than my consistently playing catch up as I do with Imperial Assault!) :)

To be honest I haven't started yet. I just went out yesterday and purchased the troopers and paints - only thing I'm waiting on now is my paintbrushes, which I'll be picking up today or tomorrow.

Simply amazing. This is my favorite session yet, and has made me more excited to get into Legion.

I love how detailed you are when you paint because it let's me pick certain techniques that I want to incorporate into my own painting style, without having to do each step you do.

How long does it take you to paint a set of minis? 7 of one color scheme looks like a lot of work, even more so when you add in dry time for each color and layer.

My girlfriend and I look forward to your next video!

Ahhhh... can I ask then, how did you get on their radar? I'm curious about the process there... I'm a bit of a painter and a blogger as well, and am curious how that works!

Thanks!:)

Tryna get your hands on miniature games early huh?

@Sorastrodid you just get the minis or the full game e.g. upgrades and instructions?

I honestly don't know how long it would take me to paint 7 of these troopers if I was just painting because the planning and filming adds so much extra time on. I might also be a little less precise if I was just painting for myself and not being filmed in 4K resolution! I can tell you this was an unusually long episode to produce because I chose to present two entirely different colour schemes though :)

Hi! I imagine they were aware of me because I've dedicated three years to producing videos covering Imperial Assault which has proven to be quite a popular series that has helped a large number of people get into the hobby. My philosophy to what I do is very simple; I aim to do what I'm passionate about and I work extremely hard to produce content that is absolutely to the best of my abilities. I believe everything else flows from that. :)

Hi Tryna! I've currently just got the minis :)

Unfortunate. Can you tell us anything about future expansions?

So you can’t even play a mock up game for yourself? Talk about blue balls.

Are the minis you’re getting the same quality of what’s in the box? I remember seeing or hearing that the Luke one was a Resin cast.

Also, do you have all of the minis that have since been announced? Maybe some that haven’t? Are the Rebel equivalent to Veers and the snowtroopers just as awesome looking?

Hi Patteous!

It's OK because I don't like to play with unpainted minis anyway (and I've not yet finished the set). Having said that I did have a demo game a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it!

Yes Luke was an early resin model, but the rest are final production models.

I've seen some of the expansion minis but don't yet have them to work on as I'm still finishing off the core set. That's all I'll say about expansions at this time :)

Ahhh, gotcha. I've never played Imperial Assault or visited the forums or anything, and am not as familiar with the FFG stuff as I am some other stuff (like historicals) so I didn't know. The main companies out there that I follow either have their own painting staff (GW) or they aren't really into that stuff (the Perrys) and whatever sort of tutorials are out there, you generally see AFTER the releases, and unsupported by the manufacturer.

That's pretty cool, though! How did they actually get in touch with you? An email? I assume you had to sign a bunch of non-disclosure paperwork? Do they pay you, or is it more of a "Hey, you get to have cool stuff and material early, and that's sort of the reward" type of thing?

Sorry if I am annoying, but I just think it is so interesting when a company goes outside of itself for supporting material, especially when they put not-yet-released stuff into the hands out a non-employee, you know?:)

Can we get a heads up on what we will see next?

It’s ok. I’ll summarise by saying that I was initially contacted via email, and yes I signed an NDA when I visited their offices in the summer, and yes, although I am an independent creator I am technically working on this particular project as an ANA freelancer. I guess it’s really not much different from the many other freelance artists that they hire to do the art work etc. :)

Sure! It’ll be the AT-RT :)

Ahhh, okay, interesting. Thanks for the info... I find that sort of stuff fascinating!

How dare you start with such treasonous units. Rebels! *spits*

Anyway, do you have an eta? And, just a request, can you do the stormies first out of the imperial units?

Ha ha! The only ETA I can offer is "soon" and yes, I'll be covering the Stormtroopers next, followed with the speeder bikes then Vader :)

Glad FFG recognized your talent Sorastro (very well deserved!) and got you involved early this way. It is a great help for those of us that might have been daunted by the task of having to paint all these minis. Also a sign of FFG wanting to help support the community.

Right now I am slowly collecting the paints that I will need (along with other supplies you suggest) so that I can be ready when the Core set is available.

Thanks a lot Thevshi! I hope you have as much fun painting your AT-RT as I did painting mine:

At-rt looks fantastic!

I like the bluey-greeny theme

Best for last I say!

As has been stated, the AT-RT is AMAZING!

Look forward to the video.
