Zion's Finest - Episode 009 - The Stars At Night! Are Big and Bright! When There’s A Regional In Texas!!!

By kennydkbrown, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Happy New Year everyone! In this episode, Robert Stanley provides us with a battle report concerning the regionals recently held in Houston, Texas. Robert discusses his matches and gives thoughts on IG-88, Ugnaughts, Vader, and so much more!

Following his battle report, Robert schools Kenny in the intricacies of the developing meta and causes Kenny to rethink all his previous notions concerning the relevance of IG, eQuays, and Jabba. The rethinking causes a minor existential crisis, but Kenny comes around to Robert's thinking and the ensuing paradigm shift is relatively minor. Thomas Kuhn, eat your heart out!

Do you use Sheldon's voice when you sing the title?

Or ...

That's hilarious. Looking forward to listening soon. I have a 3:00 meeting so will have to be after that.

Regional this upcoming weekend. It's nice having an open meta right now, where so many things are possible.

I've actually been practicing with one of my favorite figures, the Royal Guard Champion. He's awesome, and almost competitive.

I know I know.. I'm crazy. But he can wreck face and move everywhere on the board.

A 6 movement brutality is a scary thing.

I've been running Vader, RGC, 3 rOfficers, rjets, zillo, and unshakable. Command deck full of brawler and defense cards.

It's a blast. If it weren't for Nal Hutta I would consider it at the more competitive level.

I've been working so much I haven't been able to test it at any local tournaments.

This was a good listen, i know there will be a few IG88's at my coming regional, Vader must be ready.

Good luck with it!

Outside of the deployment cost, I love the idea of this list. I don't believe RGC can be the alpha dog of a list -- he can be kinda squishy if he doesn't DODGE at least once, and opponents are validated with 15 VP for hunting him down. But pairing him up with Vader means he can run away after a Brutality or two. Nice!

Thanks, it's been fun. Oddly enough at moving 6, he can run a crate if needed to. Wasting his activation on the mission isn't worth small stuff, but when a crate was worth 10 on anchor head, it was worth it.
