Does anyone know the best way to reform a Descent figure? I just got The Chains that Rust expansion and one of the Shambling Colossus is really bent. The good thing is that its not broke just looks really off due to it being squished down. I know some types of models can be warmed up with warm to hot water before you try and reform them, but I want to make sure I know what works before I put any more stress on the base and the figure.

Heat up some water near (but not) boiling. I like to use a coffee mug as it fits most descent figures.

In a separate mug or bowl, have enough cold water to submerge the figure.

Dip the bent part of the colossus in the hot water for 5 seconds or so (it will get flexible).

Remove the figure from the water, bend it the shape you want, and (holding it in that shape) quickly submerge it into cold water until it cools (and hardens).

Gee, after 86 surgeries in my life, I am pretty bent. I wonder if this will work for me ...

I use a heat gun that I bought at a hardware store. If you don't want to mess with the water method, grab a heat gun. You can always return it after trying it if it isn't something you think is worth keeping. I like it because it allows me to put a quick blast of heat on a focused area. As soon as I see the figure start to slump I turn it off and hold the figure in the position I want it to be in for about 10 seconds. After that it will stay on its own and finish cooling and be perfect after a few minutes.

I've found the water method to be pretty easy and effective.

Oftentimes, the original structure of the miniature actually bends itself back into place with water, but it's also easy to manipulate it as you want- and it hardens rather quickly, too.

Sometimes a hair dryer is better, and sometimes you may want to tear off and reglue the base.
