But they also support their fighters. Theres very little the huge ships do that help other ships without leaving them extremely vulnerable (coordinate instead of reinforce for example). Again, random small or large ships geared out to be supporty do more work.

Automated Protocols .

Seriously, the three Epic modifications that came in the Gozanti and C-ROC packs help Epic ships a lot. The GR-75, C-ROC and Imperial Assault Carrier are all extremely powerful support ships in the right configurations. They're all reasonably costed enough to stay effective, as well.

The Tantive IV and Raider are a different kettle of fish, of course.

On my wishlist is marauder corvette for scum. All guns forward arc roughly similar to raider front arc. 4 dice 2-4 primary. 2-3hardpoints. 1 crew 1 team 2 cargo. Title for more crew/team, title to improve single superlasers.

One can dream

Unfortunately, my small local group never does epic, and my buddy i play with the most got his epic stuff stolen. But i'm DYING to play epic. I just have the gozanti for now.

Play the Gozanti campaign. The Rebel player only needs standard stuff and all scenarios are on a standard 3x3 area. You’ll have a blast. TIP: TIE Advanced are really good launched from the Gozanti with Munitions, Chips and Accuracy Corrector (proxy as needed including the title) :D . I’m considering a First Order/Resistance play through with docked TIE/SFs. Might have to paint the Gozanti though

That one looks really fun, I've wanted to play it for a while! Let me know if you come up with cool alternate rules for a Resistance vs. FO variant! Also, pretty sure that to make a Gozanti/FO you have to scratch build another Gozanti that's twice as big, spray paint the entire thing black, and then paint the windows red. :)

Only change would be stipulating it is Resistance and First Order ships only. TIE/FO and TIE/SF can dock with the Gozanti already without additional rules. Resistance have two large base ships to choose from now... although I don’t think the Bomber would get very far!

Haaaaaaaaa hahaha. It’s funny because it’s true.

I'm actually trying out an "Epic: Fighter Squadrons" game this Friday night to hopefully fine-tune for a specialist tournament in the near future at my LGS.

100/6 is fun, but I buy lots of ships and its nice to fly lots of ships.

What’s the format? 300/12 3x6 board?

only time ive ever played a bigger than normal game w/o huge ships was a 150pt list so i could fly the whole Starfox custom pilots team lol (and not use my Arwings as Awings for once)

Just adding my voice of approval to boost visibility for the devs.

300/12, small base only

For the mercenary part of S&V: Crusader Corvette - me wants it, my precious :)

For enhancement of squadrons if generics: squad advantage cards . Not only is it thematically and fun to see swarms of all kinds of fighters, it also makes gameplay much faster if groups activate at same PS, and you do not have to remember to use and take track of lot of game-slowing special stuff of special aces.

As for running over small and large ships. If you introduce some of suggestions above (like hull-difference as damage or whatever) I would still suggest that the surviving small or large ship is pushed out of the way after collision. It is far too easy to block a Huge ship otherwise, they are so predictable.

Lol I can see it now "deals x damage (based on hull) then push the huge ship through it's maneuver. Whichever way the small/large gets twisted/slid as it moves is it's displacement"

I've only played team epic so far and don't own any huge ships of my own so I don't know the nitty-gritty about playing them, only in general terms but it's been glorious.

Having said that, I'd like to see Epic get it's due.

On my Epic wish list:

  • The need for a FAQ for epic is foremost.
  • Is there tournament support for Epic play? If not, why not?
  • Missions/objective scenarios with/for Epic ships please.
  • More variety of ship models and roles for them.

And one last thing: I'd like to see this thread become an analogue for the Gunboat thread. May it live for ten thousand posts.

I love the 2 v 2 format as well. What always makes me laugh is how Imperial I become bickering with my team mate while the Rebels thrash us.

He, he, he  ! Love it :D !

1- yeah faq is super needed

2- they have tournament rules for epic and sentry box in Calgary has done epic tourney

3- epics come with missions and one at least has a (short)campaign that comes with it. I hope they release more though

4- scum definitely needs a corvette. After that I don't know if they should do frigate?maybe? Or just more choices amongst support ships and corvettes (imperials have few options for more of those though)

And here's to hoping, as well here's to hoping for the same results

When the first post got the little heart banner you guys made my year

Any chance that sends a priority ping up to FFG?

I hope so, but have no clue.

Come on, ffg, don’t let us down. Scum corvette sized epic, more epic support, more campaigns for “cinematic” aka epic play!

Just keep it shy of "You have failed me for the last time, Admiral!" :P

haha i love this so much!

I need to try epic, own 4 of the 5 huge ships and over 100 of the rest but gods would it be a pain to transport. I have friends willing to play but none willing to buy so it would be all my stuff.

I see you guys saying the support ships and fighters are the way to go. How many ships roughly does that put on a side? Just trying to figure out how much stuff I’d have to pack to give this a good go. Also don’t own 2 mats so would just have to use my buddies bar for a field. Very casual cause the bases slip a lot on that thing lol

FFG support epic dang it!

I played on a pool table once. . .that worked pretty well!

At 300 points, I'd say it usually a 130 point corvette/raider or a 60 point smaller-Huge and fighters at +/- 25 points each. So say 1 big ship and 8-12 fighters per side. A few less if you add in a large ship. But, yeah, it's a lot of kit.

If you have to spot all the ships, why can't they play at your place?? When I played fantasy minis, I had all the terrain. . .so I made everyone come to my basement :) .

If only, I don’t have the room for an epic game. I do have a nice battlefoam 720 case but I don’t have foam for the epic ships yet, everything else I do though.

My brother transports his epics in their original plastic blisters. Seems to work ok.

I cut up and taped together some old LEGO boxes for each of my Huge ships. They fit snugly inside so they don't get jostled. It's worked well so far, and doesn't take up as much space as the original blisters. It's kind of like the tuck boxes that were made (by SirWillibald, I think) for the small ships, but less fancy.

Not sure how typical as I love generics in Epic and go for the higher PS pilots. Interceptors are of course docked on the Gozanti for protection until the right moment. :)
