Navigational Training List

By jbrandmeyer, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

A worthy opponent made an audacious claim: My (over-)use of Ackbar was making my navigation sloppy. Trouble is, I think he's right. So, here is a list that is designed to be reliant on getting double-arcs to take out the enemy.

I explicitly don't want to use Madine, because I'm concerned that it would be just another form of navigation crutch. Dodonna nicely rewards double-arcing MC30's. Cracken could be interesting, but I'm not sure I want to be speeding around the battlefield the entire time.

Moar ships -> zero squadrons. Well, almost zero. There's one strategic + FCT present for a T1 reposition on the hyperspace assault objective. I'd love to fuse the flotilla and the squadron into another corvette (or a pair of flotillas), but I'm not sure what I would do with the yellow objective in that case. I think that Capture the Flag VIP would be the next best choice, but that it would still be so much weaker than the others that I'd just be playing lots of Capture the VIP. Also, there are ways that a strategic opponent could turn it around on me. So, HA it is.

Home One is present mostly to save on H9's, and because an MC80 without Acbar is highly dependent on double-arcs to deliver.

Thoughts and suggestions? How would you craft a positioning-dependent list for the Rebellion?

Switch up the MC80 for a liberty if you want to practice navigating, MC80H’s sans Ackbar are a bit ropey and you are still using their massive side arcs as something of a crutch. MC80Ls are not very forgiving from a nav point of view but pay off massively when you do achieve it.

And if you have a big ship, contested outpost is always a good choice for yellow objective if you want to drop the VCX.

Nothing will teach you maneuvering like flying Mc30s. They live, die, and kill based on how well you fly them.
