Can you use the Chopper astromech action to eat the BTL title on a Y-Wing even if you have full shields? I understand that you can’t gain more shields than your max on the card, just wondering if you can use the action to get rid of the title and have the turret back to 360 Arc if at full shields?

Nothing rulewise stops you from doing it, so I guess it's legit .

Actually, there is something rulewise that stops it. Because it is a 'do X to get Y' ability, the two things are contingent. If you can't do the latter, you can't do the former, either. As precedent, we have stuff like Keyan Farlander, who can't spend a stress token to change focuses to hits against an Omega Leader that has him locked.

If the ability were 'You may do X, if you do, do Y' then you could eat the title just to get rid of it. As it stands, you can't.

Precednt used to be that you could trigger regen at ful shields , but this was reversed in the last FAQ.

See the FAQ entries for Pulsed Ray Shields and R5-P9. They both read: " A ship can only pay the cost to use this ability (receiving one ion token) if it can recover a shield. Therefore this ability cannot be used if the ship has a number of shield tokens equal to its shield value. "

Chopper is very likely to be added to the list.
