Space Ship Terrain, Toys, Models etc

By DarkTrooperZero, in Star Wars: Legion

Legion is real close to 1:48 scale. Which makes 1:72 model about a third too small. It's quite notable. There are some 1:48 X-Wings available as well as a TIE Fighter that's pretty possible. But the 1:72 Ban Dai kits are just too small.

In case you're wondering, their 1:48 AT-ST is noticeably too small for Legion but their 1:48 scale Snowspeeder is a bit big, but only by about 1 cm. I intend to swap out the FFG Snowspeeder for the Ban Dai ones when I get around to doing those.

I’m just curious, if anyone can tell me: how far off in scale are the Bandai 1/72 models? I know they definitely would not be ideal, but I’m just wondering if they’d do in a pinch. They’re relatively cheap, and are much more readily available in shops near me than any other models or toys I’ve read about online, so it’d be great if I could make some use of a few of them!

A picture or two would be fantastic, if anyone would be so kind! Thanks in advance.

Sure they would. they may not be to scale but that doesn't mean you still can't use it as terrain pieces. I have one of the revell U-Wing kits. its not the right scale but i picked it up for like 5 bucks on sale. it still works fine as a terrain piece. I would say its more immersive to have things at the proper scale but its not necessary.

On the other hand, I picked up the Priority Supplies box today and the vaporators are about a quarter to a third too small for the figure scale. But they still look good on the table. (and having them the right size might make them a bit unwieldy anyhow) So, if you want to try out a Ban Dai kit for a fighter, go for it.

The Hot Wheels speeders seem like they might be in the right scale to populate a table with some vehicles as scatter cover.

I ordered Rey's bike last week. It is about the width and height of a barricade, and once I clipped the figure off, it looks great plopped on the table: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DAAYRZK

Trying Luke and Han's speeders next.

Have you had any luck with the speeders?

Nope, sadly both are visibly too small.

Thanks for the info ?

Yeah I was disappointed by the tiny size of these vaporators. I mean they can just be a different brand or whatever from the ones on the Lars homestead in ANH, it's not like there's only one size of cattle trough or tractor in real life. But the FFG ones are dwarfed by my spark plug vaporator.

I bought the revell imperial shuttle kit on the cheap, it's not the right size but it does att alot of star wars flavor to the game.

Also If you make wrecks from model kits the scale isn't as notable.
