Episode IX - What would YOU do?

By GrandAdmiralCrunch, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

There is no question The Last Jedi is divisive. Much has been said of the pros and cons of this movie.

A question both sides are having difficulty with us where do they go from here? Where CAN they go from here. There is a galaxy of possibilities, but no strong narative threads that left untied in the wake of Episide 8.

So, if you had the reigns of Star Wars for the next movie, what would you do with the final chapter of this series?

Here's what I want for episode IX based on all that happened on episode VIII

-Long time lapse

-First Order after establishing control over part of the galaxy also used their Unknown Regions knowledge to try and add it to the known galaxy under their rule.

-In the process, they confront the Chiss Ascendancy, who join the effort of the Rebellion in order to bring down the First Order

-Rebellion increases their numbers with help that was scattered accross outer-rim, and remanescents of New Republic provide support

-Rey went in a quest for the true balance of the force, and after years researching the story of the Sith, she discovers how to bring balance to the force

-Kylo Ren continues as an impulsive supreme leader, he decides to settle in Darth Vader's castle in Mustafar, and make of the planet the main base of operations to the First Order

-Leia died during that time of natural causes, the first scene shows her funeral, held in Chandrilla and we get to see an older Mon Mothma crying.

-Rey goes after Kylo attempting to show him how they must unite forces not to rule the galaxy, but to keep the peace in it, and create an academy of a new era for the jedi (grey jedis, but not explicitly said as so) (LIGHT)

-Kylo still believes that the true way to keep the galaxy in peace is to rule it (DARK)

-Big Mustafar fight, while the Rebellion and Chiss launch a galaxy wide attack on First order ships, combining the strategy of the Chiss and determination and hope of Resistance fighters.

-Poe has learned from episode VIII, becomes a general. And alongside Thrawn and Eli Vanto, leads the main attack in the space of Mustafar against a still repairing Supremacy, where Hux leads the first order fleet, now with improved fighter screen, including bombers and many more interceptors in order to counter the Resistance fighers, and Dreadnoughts for the Chiss fleet.

-The Chiss knowledge of hyperlanes also allows them to precisely flank the first order, which is another reason for the First Order investing in fighter squadrons

-Ghosts of Revan, Anakin, Sidious, Obi-wan,Yoda and Luke show up to support Rey, Kylo and the Knights of Ren are confronted by the ghosts along Rey then as the connection she gained with the force allowed her to help the ghosts to manifest physically temporarily. The main fight is still between Rey and Kylo, and focuses on how they are counterparts of the sides of the force that must keep the balance, but each with their views of how turned differently

Edit:Yep I copied that from the spoiler thread but think it belongs better here :D

As for what I would do...

Episode IX would pick off right where VIII left off. The falcon flies away from Crait as Kylo orders the fleet to pursue. They track the falcon to its next destination and arrive soon after.

TIE fighters score direct hits on the Falcon forcing it to crash on the planet it was heading for. Leia sacrifices herself to protect the others on board and the future of freedom in the galaxy. (Note: this would be out of necessity, but would also hopefully be a worthy sendoff).

The survivors escape into the nearby city, and we learn they headed to this planet to meet up with resistance supporters. After meeting, the survivors are indignant that they never received reinforcements. The supporters explain that many of the old guard are tired of fighting, and too many young people want stability and comfort. That too many systems want to see to their own safety than to throw in with a losing side.

Poe tells them that they have to reignite the embers of rebellion. By this time though the first order has invaded and declared martial law. Kylo will stop at nothing to end the resistance once and for all.

Luke returns as a force ghost and assures a distraught Rey that he is ready to teach her as he should have before.

Time passes. The resistance has a plan. Poe, Rey,Fin, Rose and others record messages telling their stories and asking for aid. They come up with a dangerous plan to sneak into a facility and transmit the message.

big action scene. Rey and Kylo fight. Message transmitted. Kylo escapes after a defeat, but is smug as the newly repaired supremacy and 2 Mandator IV’s Arrive in system to bombard the planet and cement his rule.

before he can gloat, the sensor officer tells him of new hyperspace readings. A fleet of Mon Cal cruisers pops out of hyperspace. And then a Corellian Fleet. Then a Duros and Sullustian and Twillek Fleet. The people of the galaxy have come to stand up against Tyranny.

Realizing they are outgunned, the First Order slinks away with their tail between their legs. This isn’t the dramatic end of the series... this is just the beginning...

I would agree it belongs better her. That is a cool idea.

What do I want from episode 10? The First Order succeeds in crushing the resistance. Takes control of the Galaxy. The severed heads of Poe, Rey, and Finn are mounted on spikes outside the gates of Vader's castle on Mustafar. Peace and Order are restored. Scenes of Celebration on world's all across the Galaxy as people dance shoot fireworks and consume the Flesh of other sentient species. The Force ghosts of Vader (the real Vader force ghost not the somehow young again remastered Vader force ghost) and the Emperor appear to an unmasked Kylo Ren and embrace him in a group hug. Kylo smiles as a single tear rolls down his cheek. Triumphant music plays as the credits begin to roll.

Large battle with fleets of Resistance sympathizers versus the First Order.

Rey turns Kylo to the light side.

They marry and their kids are the future bloodline of the Skywalker heritage.

First Order military is integrated into The Republic.

That’s probably what will happen even if i think it’s bad

It's the only way!!!!!!!!!!

I'd make Rey actually have to earn something.

Can I get another small sized celestial body with the capacity to destroy planets? I feel Star wars has really glossed over that aspect, and I demand MOAR!

But they are insignificant....

... at least next to the power of the Force...

Luke wakes up, realizing that VII, VIII, and Rogue One were all just bad dreams. Han didn't die like a sucker. Finn and Al Poe-chino don't exist. Rey and A-Wing Babe do exist and spend the movie in metal bikinis like proper heroines. Lando rounds up everyone for a final mop-up mission against the remnants of the Empire, but just as the final assault is about to begin, the police show up and arrest everyone from both sides.

Early on I would have the Knights of Ren approach Rey and swear fealty to her. Rey's main struggle would be to balance her need for such powerful allies against their brutal methods and how to lead them away from the darkness while searching for the strength to finally defeat Kylo Ren. She would build a double lightsaber because... Well she does like her stick.

As the galaxy erupts in violent uprisings and tyrannical countermeasures Poe, Finn and Flightsuit would have their work cut out for them uniting disparate elements into a new force for good and hope rather than revenge and personal gain.

Kylo has reached heights Vader never could without stepping out his shadow. He has what he always wanted but it's all wrong. The resulting anger drives his power to new levels but he is as unbalanced as ever seeing as all the power of the Dark Side and his new empire are not enough to make the galaxy conform to his will. He turns his redoubled fury on the former allies who deserted and Rey finds her new flock dwindling much to her despair.

I don't know how I would wrap it up. I am not good at finishing stories. I would not have the Force "balanced". I think the whole balance thing was accomplished when Vader wiped the slate clean. After the moment of "balance" the Force revolves in equilibrium. It can never be "balanced" because it has life. When strength rises, other strength will be awakened to meet it. This is the new balance of the Force. Always in motion like the future and the life that makes it grow.

So I'm not the only one who noticed Tallie the A-Wing pilot...now if only she was a loyal Imperial, then I would be interested :)
