4-LOM and TLT... what's "this attack"?

By emeraldbeacon, in X-Wing Rules Questions

For the sake of argument, consider that I'm using 4-LOM on a ship with Twin Laser Turret , firing at a ship with a focus and evade token. I choose to use 4-LOM on the first TLT shot, shutting off the opponent's focus. After the first shot, I want to use 4-LOM again on the other token (assuming it didn't get spent)... which of the following best represents what happens?

  1. 4-LOM locks down one token for the entire two-shot volley, but I cannot use him again. I take one ion token.
  2. 4-LOM locks down one token for the first shot, then 4-LOM locks down one token for the second shot. I take two ion tokens. (I'm leaning towards this interpretation)
  3. 4-LOM locks down one token for the entire two-shot volley, then 4-LOM locks the other token for the second shot. I take two ion tokens.
  4. Something else entirely?

Or, basically, when 4-LOM and TLT each say "this attack," what are they referring to?

2 is correct.

I'd say 1 is correct. I thought TLT was pretty much considered 1 attack when considering other abilities.

TLT and Cluster Mine are one attack *only* for effects that happen before or after attacking. Check the timing chart in the FAQ.

Exactly. It is two attacks for anything to do with the dice themselves. Good for Accuracy Corrector, bad for Zuckuss/4-LOM

Although if I have a small base ship, there's no reason to not use 4-LOM on the second shot too - I'm already Ion'ed, and my 1-speed maneuver can't be made any straighter.
