End of February, maybe into March.
About freaking time!

Ditto. I suspect we'll get Legion around end of January, beginning of February, and Wave VII about 3-4 weeks after.
Sigh. One release a year. So sad
More like 7 months.
in 2017 there was 1 release total
The only disappointing part I take from it is the way people seem to act as if they expect it to continue to be 1 release forever... although I am sure that is just me over-seeing negativity.

And I'll continue to hold my ground that 1 good release that doesn't break the game is better than 3+ releases each year.
In fact, I'd rather they change up the tournament rules each event season to change up lists over throwing out a bunch of poorly designed models. Ex: All matches for Winter 2019 season are played long-ways or you place 2 ships or 2 sets of squads over 1 (just some quick ideas out here).
What are the odds a new wave gets announced before this one is even out?

Why is that sad?
Edited by GinkapoYeah, it may be slightly slower than they've done in the past, but 6 months is the minimum time I like to play out a wave and get a good sense of it before changing it, and 8 months is still delightful.

Basically non existent. They have a history of announcing things at gama.
One release a year makes my wallet happy. More importantly, it makes my wife happy. ????
#CantBuyAnArticle
Come on FFG, not fair to show literally nothing of the Rebel stuff outside of a ship spread and an admiral...
I would take 1 card a week articles over nothing. That way we could spend each week jumping to super dumb conclusions by taking analyzing that one card in a vacuum. Always a fun time.
Is it possible they delayed the release as they reworked cards to address current meta concerns?

Nah, most likely Legion bumped us out of the Christmas cycle.
Legion did not make it by Christmas either... I feel like that was a fail for FFG monetarily.

100%. Though FFG hasn't been good at meeting deadlines ever. They did release a X-Wing release before Christmas, but with Legion coming about a month after seems like a misstep. I'd have gladly asked for it for Christmas and probably bought in hard after being gifted the initial box. Now that reality has set in and I'm back to being an adult again, I'm looking at that time commitment for painting the minis and thinking I might just pass.
I've never been disappointed by the slow release cycle as I have a list that's been in my bag for about 5 months now and never played once. I have plenty to mess around with. I just wish companies would be more open about their release plans. I've spoken to some gaming companies and they have a set "new ______ every year with expansions every 4 months." That works for me. I can budget and plan for releases.
Armada releases have always been kind of erratic. It's a sad fact.
Ater a good run from when 3/4 hit the shelves, I was almost certain FFG was giving Armada decent support. Hooray.
Alas, I was mistaken. It was only a fluke.
While I'll continue to enjoy the game, I'm now convinced it'll never get the kind of support I think it deserves/needs.
So I've scaled back my expectations and commitment (if you can call it that, it's a game after all) to a level more in keeping with reality.
As such I can wait however long it takes. Not happy about the delay oc, it just doesn't matter that much.
But being at the printer IS good news!
I just think it's odd, because they said in the Thrawn article that the wave would drop in the middle of regionals and that would put it at about the end of January beginning of February, and on the French website doesn't it say they are on the boat? I still have my hopes up for late January early February, as I don't put great stock and them updating the status of a project, I'd rather put my faith in their actual words saying that they would have it out in the middle of the regional season.
Closest regionals is in late March, so somewhat optimistic in that regard

playing long ways is a horrible idea for tournaments, think about how the tables are set up,

You're missing the point of my suggestion (if FFG wants to pay me to actually design a balanced rotating tournament setup, I'll design it for them. I'm not doing it for free. I have a regular job I design for). Though I see most games end up playing where the ships are going long ways after a round or two anyway.
I dont care about the release dates that much.
I just want to know what the ******* expansion has! I want to know cards and ship stats! I want to know the basics about the expansion so i know how many to preorder/buy!
Thats what i want. Im a rebel only player, cool i know what im gonna face in the chimera expansion. Fantastic. (Only slightly salty here,it is good to know what im going to face)
I do however want to know what i can use.

*if it isnt obvious i want to know whats in the profundity expansion, if not everything than at least the ship itself, what upgrades it can take, etc. If they have released all the info on the ship, pls redirect me to it cause ive been out of touch for a couple of days.*
(I also know some info has been spoiled
)
