First Try at a ISD List.

By SimonS, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Greetings!

After a long break the gang and I decided to return to playing Armada. A Huge discount for the domestic sets might be the reason...

Non the less, I've picked up an ISD recently (I know it has been out for a million years:)) thus I'd like to play it. Below You will find my proposition, could You please give me some advice, what to change. Oh we don't play Proxy Wars, and do not have WAVE 6 yet...

Here it is:

Faction: Galactic Empire
Points: 398/400

Commander: Admiral Motti

Assault Objective: Precision Strike
Defense Objective: Planetary Ion Cannon
Navigation Objective: Superior Positions

Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer (120 points)
- Avenger ( 5 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 149 total ship cost

[ flagship ] Interdictor-class Suppression Refit (90 points)
- Admiral Motti ( 24 points)
- Interdictor ( 3 points)
- Projection Experts ( 6 points)
- Overload Pulse ( 8 points)
- Targeting Scrambler ( 5 points)
- Grav Shift Reroute ( 2 points)
= 138 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 25 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Bomber Command Center ( 8 points)
= 31 total ship cost

1 Maarek Steele ( 21 points)
1 TIE Defender Squadron ( 16 points)
2 TIE Bomber Squadrons ( 18 points)

I don't think you have enough squadron power to get much use out of BCC. Probably better off with fighters or interceptors in plac of the TIE-Bs.

Suppressor on the flotilla instead can work well with Avenger hampering the brace token while XI7s drill through the shields.

Basically this. Definitely drop the BCC, maybe the entire unit, and pick up the change in Defenders (personal opinion, other anti-squadron fighters will also work well). I wouldn't use Overload Pulse, you have no good way of guaranteeing the proc. If you want the ion cannon just to up the punchiness of the Interdictor, I'd take Ion Cannon Batteries, much less of a loss if you can't get Avenger in position or don't get a crit at all. Precision Strike and Superior Positions will both punish you if you get a bomber-heavy opponent, Most Wanted and Solar Corona are both safer options.

Greetings!

Wow! Thank You for all the Tips! As a Noob I did not notice all the thigs. I've adjusted the list taking into consideration Your advices, sadly I only own 1 fighter II pack, so I've put Interceptors. I decided to leave the second Gozanti, just in case, and swapped BCC for Jamming Field, but I'm not so sure about it. Managed to upgrade one to Suppressor though :)

Jamming field effects your squads and the counter attack. In my opinion its not worth the trade as it means weakening your offense and defense.

Slicer works well with suppressor since you have to fly it very aggressively in front of your fleet. Otherwise just take off tge support so you arent giving away more points than needed when it dies.

Yes drop SW7s to change jamming field into slicer tools.

I still think OL pulse could work especially if you can squeeze in disposable capacitors for the interdictor. Yes it's tricky to achieve because of the activation order but it is a threat and many opponents will try hard to avoid it. Just having the option can give benefits even if you never use the combo. But it is expensive.

Greetings!

Because I've received the Quasar Fire before the game I've made the following list:

Commander: Darth Vader

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective: Contested Outpost
Navigation Objective: Dangerous Territory

[ flagship ] Interdictor-class Suppression Refit (90 points)
- Darth Vader ( 36 points)
- Engineering Team ( 5 points)
- Disposable Capacitors ( 3 points)
- Overload Pulse ( 8 points)
- G7-X Grav Well Projector ( 2 points)
- Grav Shift Reroute ( 2 points)
= 146 total ship cost

Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer (120 points)
- Avenger ( 5 points)
- Boarding Troopers ( 3 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- SW 7 Ion Batteries ( 5 points)
= 146 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 25 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 25 total ship cost

1 "Howlrunner" ( 16 points)
3 TIE Fighter Squadrons ( 24 points)
1 TIE Interceptor Squadron ( 11 points)

I won, but that is not an indicator of the power lower, but I must say it was fun to play, and I will definitely try to fly more of the ISD + Interdictor lists :)

Thank You all for help :)
