Oh exactly. Thats what bugs me the most when people try to drag Disney/Lucasfilm into it. It’s FFG’s decision.

To be fair, we arent privy to the details. I heard a fairly believable story that they simply aren’t licensed to produce prequel trilogy miniatures, which is why every model for any game so far has had to appear in a book/comic/tv show/whatever first.

Might very well be total BS, it they really have never done a miniature until it appeared in something other than the prequel movies...so who knows.

The good news is that a LOT of prequel trilogy stuff has now appeared in other sources, so there’s always hope regardless.

I have no clue why prequel stuff is shunned, maybe it's a more expensive licence? maybe it's people at the companies who won't make it? maybe Disney blocks it.

But i know i see a game like legion and get excited. Then as i look through i see that the Star Wars i had the chance to actually see in theaters isn't represented in the least, i get disappointed. And end up losing interest. I love all the star wars, and i don't need prequels to even have an equal representation. but to have none, make it feel like the haters won. And that my star was isn't good enough to offer products.

It doesn't have a representation right NOW. This is an entirely new game, not new armies for an existing game. It would be foolish for FFG to throw a WHOLE bunch of time, money, and energy into trying to release 4+ armies simultaneously rather than get something out the door focusing on just two armies, but allowing them to figure out the rules and balance in worldwide play. Maybe it will in the future, or maybe the game will have died by then, who knows?

Destiny’s just-released wave has Jar Jar, Maul, Ewan McKenobi, prequel-era Droids, etc. The wave before that had Mace. Hayden Vader has been in the mix for a while, etc. FFG isn’t opposed to prequel era content, and Disney is willing to approve it in some games at least. IA just got Rebels content, so that’s approved too.

I don’t think there’s any reason to suspect that any currently canon content is off limits in any of FFGs games. I assume at this point they have enough data to suggest which content and characters sell best.
