I am super excited! Stopping at the bank today to deposit some Christmas cash then I am finally preordering the core set! In the meantime, what is everyone's preferred model glue? I used to use the testors red tube stuff but more recently have used cheap super market super glue with decent results.
Glue
Depends on the type of plastic they use. You need to get they type of glue that works on it. I liked the testors model glue on the old 40K models, but since the formula for the plastics have changed over the years, it doesn't work very well. Anything like Zap-a-gap with some accelerator should work though.
Testors red stuff for plastic models.
Superglue for resin.
Wood glue for terrain work.
White glue for about everything else that isn't covered by one of the above.
Agree with everything above. I've grown fond of Gorilla super glue as well. I haven't had any issues with it on plastic.
I was in hobby lobby the other day (they carry vallejo paints by the way) and I saw some Tamiya glue that I was thinking of trying. It came in thin, medium and thick.
I like the supermarket superglue glue, and just use it until I have to hold the parts for too long or it dries out.

Man, I miss living in Michigan. There was a Hobby Lobby every 10 miles. Here in CA, theres only 2 in the greater LA/OC area. Both over an hour drive.
Cant go past good old contacta
testors blue, I prefer non toxic everything.
I like Loctite super glue.
I'm rather fond of Plastruct Plastic Weld these days.
you hit both sides quickly and smash them together hard with lots of pressure. this makes a little ridge of melt plastic that you can then sand down once the stuff is cured.
it will remove the seams from most things and has welded any funky miniatures plastics I have thrown at it.
I like gorilla super glue gel. Sets fast but not too fast and the gellyness keeps it from running all over my fingers.
Polystyrene cement for any plastic that it works with, Gorilla super glue gel for anything else (as dukncuver says, its less messy and as an added bonus it gap-fills at the same time).
That's basically it for standard model purposes for me, keeps it nice and simple.
