Took a couple of weeks off... will resume work Tuesday. Because why not?
For those about to work, We distract you!
An addendum to the above. It's dangerous as all get out. One of my coworkers got his fingers ground off round Thanksgiving. Hazserdous gasses, radiation, molten metal, machine that will remove valued limbs. Long term health hazards too let us not forget that. Its fun on a bun

Where all of the work is basically taken over by overqualified individuals used to getting 200k/yr on the oil patch, whose work up there has dried up due to the price of oil, so a guy like me has no opportunities.
The market will improve as the price of Oil improves. That will scond them out of their jobs here to jobs up there again. But in the meantime, I'm competing at the minimum wage level.

Thats rough man. for what its worth I hope your fortunes improve. Not that what I have to to say is intrensically of value, because I am at best a poor man's fortune cookie.

Man...that sounds like a paperwork nightmare...is your company hiring? That's right up my alley. ![]()
I have a lot of empathy for the guys on the floor. It's rough work and my time turning wrenches on F-16s reminds me what it's like seeing the office guys seemingly do nothing while I'm roasting in scalding heat.
That said, if anyone is looking for entry-level work in the SE Michigan area, I'll pull strings to find you work.
Luckily tomorrow is the only day I have to work this week.
I go back to work tomorrow, got some mad money saved up for Wave VII when it finally hits. But when I do get back to work it's end-of-quarter/end-of-year sell/ship everything you can to make month.
So that being said... anyone need a new floor? ![]()
I got some Non-Work, Armada "Work" done.
Wow. Everyone here getting sick. Then there’s me. Born in May. Scientifically proven to get sick less.

now that the US will tear up Alaska, will that have any impact on Canadian oil workers?
as long as I can remember I did not work from about a week before Christmas to Jan 2nd, at least. Always humbled when seeing the hard working retail people on day 1 after Christmas, having no real break with that amount of people storming the stores, wanting to change non-fitting stuff or getting rid of vouchers. People working in ski areas, the medical personnel, countless others, so many that dont have the luxury of a longer Christmas break.
So thx all guys and girls keeping the world going (although I am not sure we have to keep it going all the time for profit reasons, but thats another discussion). Hope you still had wholesome Christmas day(s), and all the best for your 2018 plans, on and off the playmat.
I'm 12 minutes from starting my shift.
Freight's gotta be moved.
Just came in from a long walk with the dog. Bright blue skies, light wind and minus three. Perfect hiking weather. Will resume lazy morning now. Commencing 2nd cup of coffee...
started work at 6 AM on 26th, not complaining, did not get called during Xmas WE, so I could stay and cook a lot with my brother.
This week is so dead here in France you're happy to have a daily support call at all; tomorrow 2 new servers and a pair of switches (if they do come in) to install, Friday maybe one or two hours real work...
boring week, but have to be there if something happens
I came back to work today. So far I have not been productive. Glad I only have to put in 3 days this week and then get another long weekend.
I started on the shop floor here. I quickly lost my feelings of remembering where I came from as I got more and more calls and emails about them building something wrong or missing parts. No sense of pride in work any more. ![]()
I'm forced to work the two days here between Christmas and New Years... Too many others off. I'm losing my cool realizing that I was behind when I left and still got a dozen emails and phone calls from overseas in while the world celebrates Christmas. I'll be getting OT during a 2 day work week. For real?
While I kind of hate sitting around doing nothing, I'm really ready to strangle people who want stuff shipped while we're shut down for inventory. It happens every year, so I'm surprised so many customers act flabbergasted when I tell them it won't ship until the 3rd.
