Is there anyone or any place who has the characters used at gencon? My friends want to try the system and I was going to run the free adventure.

Character sheets were effectively beta test sheets (or from a future genre book release) which have skills and abilities that didn't make it into the core rulebook. Its better make your own as others have done. That being said, the sheets can be found here.
