How much of this is from legends? Disney has told ffg to stay away from the prequels and legends material for their games so I would expect vehicles and units from mostly canon, not legends. Ffg can ask Disney but it’s not guaranteed that Disney will give the ok to do so.

They have all appeared in that galactic something or other iPhone game which Pablo Hidalgo has said is Canon. They were originally legends but that game (like legion) needed rebel units.

I was just thinking. Aside from trooper units, most units, when comparing Imps to Rebels, are opposites. Vader vs Luke, speedy bikes vs a walker. Fast airship vs heavy walker. We already know that Imp Spec Forces will be Scout Troopers, with those likely being snipers. Using this trend, could we see our first Rebel Spec Forces unit being heavy frontline infantry? Too soon for those wookie commandos? Or just bring Chewbacca himself as special forces?

I'm actually hoping they avoid racial units and instead give us something like... Rebel heavy troopers with a wookie, a gigoran, a lasat and some of the other big guy races. Maybe armed with close combat weapons and shotguns?

This would be amazing.

Would be great indeed as a unit of cc specialists.

Could also be nice to have them individual as attachements/upgrades to normal units to boost their melee potential. (If only for looks)

I'd be interested in a Bothan operatives squad, that would be fitting as far as race specific units go. I can't see them doing a wookiee squad or some weird stuff first.

I think Bothans are going through a change right now. Reports of them being taken out of the reprinted FFG RPG corebooks are suggesting a re-canonization. Perhaps due to the Solo movie *shrugs*

Hey, thanks for highlighting that "snow-sleigh" vehicle from Hoth. All these years and I never knew about it! I am already wargaming Star Wars in 20mm at present so always looking to add new vehnicles into the mix. Btw, for other possible vehicles/units, check out "Star Wars Rebel Alliance Sourcebook" (West End Games 1994), chapter 6.

We need cool characters/units! The Twilight Company (or Inferno Squad for imps) or maybe not those but specialist units would be great, a Besalisk with super heavy weapons or the white furry alien from Rogue One. Mixed alien species for great flavor and charisma! Can't wait!

I hope we don't get Hoth troopers...they don't have special training (like Snowtroopers) just some cold weather gear and they would be hard to "mix" in with a rebel force that is themed for Jungle or Desert (like mine will be)
IF we get Hoth troopers I am probably painting them up muted green/khaki camo...

So would you be fine using Camo trooos on a Hoth map? Not me. I want echo base troopers for Hoth and endor troopers for endor.

Sergeant Melshi from rogue one wears a hoth uniform. Or at least close to it. I will paint my hoth troopers to look like him.

That sounds like a disgusting amount of painting......... I would probably paint any echo base troopers to match my standard troops.
