shtiff that makes me sad: Giant list building inequalities.

Here's a question for the OP, did you fly the list? If so ,what did you match it against?

A similar First Order, using only the Starter and a couple of FO expansions should be fairly "balanced".

The falcon does pretty much nothing for all its points. Any ship that can dodge its arc can ignore its out-of-arc shots, and its a poorer jouster than most (including your T-70s). I'd advise, strangely enough, that you replace the Falcon with another T-70 - Poe:

Poe Dameron (PS9 Version) (43)
T-70 X-Wing (33), Black One (1), R2-D2 (4), Advanced Optics (2), Veteran Instincts (1), Autothrusters (2)

Blue Squadron Novice (27) x 2
T-70 X-Wing (24), Flight-Assist Astromech (1), Advanced Optics (2), Integrated Astromech (0)

Totalling 97 points.

Poe is a tank - more so than the Falcon with Advanced Optics and R2-D2. At PS 11 he's at the top of the chain with a 3 pt bid, which is pretty crucial with Kylo moving in. Black One gives him some anti-munitions capability.

Overall, you go from a list that auto-loses against an ace to one with excellent all-round potential.

I'd expect any game with sufficient list-building depth to enable players to create bad lists as well as good lists, and all the other types of lists in between too. You shouldn't expect to be able to put anything together and have a Tier 1 list (otherwise the whole concept of Tiers would be pointless). Yes, you don't want too much disparity between a great list and an OK list, but I think the current meta is not too far away from that right now. I'd even argue it's a good thing if players are punished for putting together bad lists with poor synergy (not saying this list is an example of that, BTW). I've seen players build lists that have multiple Action cards on the same ship, for example. Some of those cards were bad, some good, in their own right, but on the same ship they were terrible. That's the player's fault, not the game's.

As far as this specific list goes, it's not too bad. I'd expect a good player to do reasonably well with it at a tournament. It could be better, but I think that's a good thing. Refining lists is something I enjoy doing and is all part of the game. In this case you could drop a T-70 and then you could end up with a Poe/Rey build which is not only pretty good but is even quite thematic. Or drop the Falcon and add in an ace, maybe upgrading one of the T-70s to a mid-level pilot.

I guess, like most people in this thread, I don't really understand the point of the OP. Seems like negativity for its own sake to me.

So with a friend for the holidays, they had another T70, so I tried to build something from what we had....

Theoretically, this list is the best I can make it, yet its also just... REALLY BAD. (At least I think so. Would you want to convince me otherwise?)

It actually does okay vs bombers due to sheer hull, but most T1 lists, Imperial lists, Nym Dengar whatevers will nuke this list out of the sky.

Blue Squadron Novice (24)
Flight-Assist Astromech (1)
Advanced Optics (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)

That... that actually looks like a really fun, thematic list that shouldn't do too badly in a tournament. The only thing that would nuke it really badly is ordnance (likely PS killing an X-wing on the opening fire). You could easily throw 9 double modified red dice which is nothing to scoff at.

Well. Go ahead someone. =)

Falcon + 2 t-70s.

In other news advanced optics is nice
