Gozanti gunship
Nice work!
I prefer that design to what we got. I prefer the Broken Horn as well. Dunno why we got the Merchant One. It's the most blah looking C-ROC in Star Wars lore. Plain, boring brown.
I've wanted to try a civilian Gozanti for a long time now, but knowing me I'll **** it up.
Thanks for the feedback.
It started with a discussion over a big 'collective' game of X-wing....was there a way to field a Gozanti-type ship as a merchant/civilian/gunship on the rebel side? So the Wookipedia entry for Krayt's Honor was waved in front of me...and I thought hmm- a lot of plasticard required for that to be born out of a Gozanti?
The along came the C-ROC and the rear engine pylon was (more or less) done...though there is still a lot of plasticard! But- there's a pretty big scrappage bill if it all goes wrong...
That left the delta-wing rear section of an Imperial Gozanti- with its embedded engines and a few left-over barrel engine pods from the C-ROC..so I thought they looked nice mounted on body-pylons mirroring the dorsal pylon.
BUT..and this is the question for you experienced folk on the forum...how to translate the load-out of the pretty tooled-up gunship Krayt's Honor...into a playable craft in the Epic format of the game? My stab at it is attached below...
Trying to keep with the Wookipedia listing for weaponry variety- but have had to improvise an energy version here and there to allow for epic ship energy gains. The listing on the back of the ship card does tie the hand of the pilot somewhat..but that's the idea.
I also thought that given that it is a gunship/frigate type craft...the rule that applies to the Imperial Raider whereby it gets a shot with everything it has got...might be the right thing to do? The basic Gozanti is not a hard-hitter- it gets its real clout from deploying four bombers which each get to target-lock and fire assault missiles- if you follow my reasoning?
Any of you guys tried anything like that? You reckon it might work?

I'd say make it very similar to the existing Gozantis. Maybe have it specialize in teams or crew.

I'd considered that...the trouble is - a basic Gozanti is a lot of points locked-up in a single hull that doesn't shoot much? You get far more bangs for your buck out of a couple of K-s with missiles or a YT2400 ( in the rebel fleet ) and still get turrets.
The specific Krayt's Honor variant is a shooter..doesn't carry anything..no docking clamps, so the idea of the epic multi-shot was to reflect its modified gunboat status...will have to fly it in the group and see how it goes.
Edited by AndyHAre you going to mod a Gozanti to look like the Krayt’s Honor? Because I’d like to see that.

It's the one in the background in the first posting...it's already done... :-)
( tho mine might be a bit grey )

Is that an actual modded FFG plastic model?

Yeah...read down a couple of posts...it's a hatchet-job between a Gozanti and a C-ROC....with the remaining parts used to make the grey/blue ship in the foreground...it's a photo of the ships...over a play-mat ( with photoshopped ion engines of course) .

Nice!
Since you've taken both of these apart, I was wondering if you noticed how difficult it might be to add the docking port tube slots/holes onto the C-ROC? Ideally, I'd try to space them out a bit more, for more ship options.

That's an interesting question- and one I didn't even give a minute's thought to, since I was hacking the C-ROC to make Krayt's Honor and then shunting-on the Gozanti delta-wing , to make a Rebel-aligned heavy-lifter ...not even reomtely FFG-canon.
It should be quite straightforward to cut-in the docking ports on the flat underside, at whatever spacing you prefer. I didn't do this because I'm not aware of any resistance craft that "cinematically-speaking" were able to do this?
To be honest, I'm primarily interested for RPG purposes (my group is thinking of going for the C-ROC as the primary party transport, but several still want star fighters). I myself want to stick one of Mel's Chiss Clawcraft under there. lol
