Kylo and two nu squadrons

By Pestilens, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello everybody, I’m going to try this list and I Would like to know your opinion

Ps2 nu squadron pilot x2

extra munition, harpoon missile, OS-1 arsenal loadout, long ranged scanners

ps 9 kylo ren

push the limit, title, advanced sensors, autothusters, primed thrusters.

98 points list

thanks for the advice

Kylo is, of course, excellent. However, I think you can get more useful other ships.

I would suggest one of the following:

Nu w/ XG-1/HLC/LB

OR

Rho w/ PTL, Harpoons, Adv. SLAM, and OS-1 (can ALWAYS fire those missiles)

Then add Omega Leader, because Omega Leader is cheap and amazing.

i'm not sure I would take an empty OL just because he won't have the offensive power necessary to explain him being in the list with out com relay/juke

You can get Omega Leader with upgrades with those wingmates!

This is/was my regionals list:

Rho Squadron Veteran (21)
Deadeye (1)
Harpoon Missiles (4)
Guidance Chips (0)

Rho Squadron Veteran (21)
Deadeye (1)
Harpoon Missiles (4)
Guidance Chips (0)

Kylo Ren (TIE Silencer) (35)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Fire-Control System (2)
Advanced Optics (2)
Autothrusters (2)
First Order Vanguard (2)

Total: 96

I had extra munitions on both boats, and I still may put them back on, but initiative bid can be important for Kylo.

This Kylo can actually deal damage. Adv. Sensors PTL is cool and all, but hits like a wet noodle. I found myself not doing as much dancing because in general you want to flank/hit and fade with Kylo as much as possible. Overall it seems to work pretty good and I'm settled on this Kylo as the way to go for my playstyle. My theory is, I shouldn't need to adv. sensor boost barrel roll if I don't put Kylo in a position where he needs to do that. I come in, fire, five straight, boost away, 5 straight boost away. recharge focus, five straight boost in, fire, repeat. Its fun!

As for the boats, I think it's a trap to overload them. Deadeye/LRS has been the combo I've really enjoyed. I've tried a few different EPT's including VI, trickshot (that was funny), and crackshot, but deadeye is the way to go in my opinion being low in the shooting order. VI is another good call, but then your boats will get farmed by counter measures and black one title. I also swapped between chips and LRS every second game during play testing and I much prefer LRS, especially against 2 ship lists. It's a nice thing to lock one ship and have the freedom to shoot the other one. Where it really shines is to make your opponent think your targeting A with locks, then actually go for target B after A runs out of position.

I also played with the title, but title and deadeye doesn't work. I tried adv. Slam and title, but once again, doesn't work with deadeye. Extra Munitions helps out a lot with tempo, does not take an action to reload, and I often find I don't get more than 3 harpoons off a game anywyas.
