Better Edit but more to come.

Nice!!
Meh. I don't need a fight between two old men "actioned-up."

Yeah. I like the Ep IV fights better than Yoda in the Prequels and Palpatine in Clone Wars.... subtly is a lost art in Star Wars... except in Rogue One, but there it went over people’s heads... c'est la vie
now EPVII and VIII have done much better at avoiding silly overacting in duels and EPI did it well too
I like this reimagining’s feel... but I don’t think Kenobi should feel like he’s loosing. Again, kinda missing the point

I’m not gonna say they’re aren’t plot holes the size of Star Killer or weird moments
Let's not take this topic down that path. If we start, forever will it dominate our destiny the thread.
This lightsaber duel looks cool. Please post an update when it's finished!

Wait what’s wrong with Starkiller? I mean, it had a thermal oscillator!

But also missing the point? Jyn’s entire arc is based around her learning to believe in and fight for more than herself. Not to mention that the dying wish of said father was that they blow up the Death Star.

Yeah you right. Good call. I’m out folks! Cool lightsaber fight! Looks dope!
Edit—that wasn’t supposed to sound sarcastic.
Edited by AilowynnSubtle? Rogue one? Pretty much a movie created to give Vader a chance to show he can kill grown ups and not jus5 younglings?

Please. Younglings had a better chance

Omg love it, no hem haw grand standing. 2 men way past their prime who hate each other actually TRYING to kill each other. I can feel the rage in Vader’s swings and this is much better than the can’t touch this dance they do in ANH. Well done and look forward to a climax. Sir Alec would have wished he could have been spry enough to pull that off.

I think you're being extremely generous with the word "arc". She was not interested in the rebellion until the 3rd act started. There was no arc. Just a direct, unwavering line.
And then she immediately felt differently because somebody needed to deliver a speech.
No progress. No development. She felt one way in one scene, and then did a complete 180 in the next scene.
She hates the guy who considers shooting her dad and decides not to, but loves the people who did kill him.
Why? Because the movie is close to over and we forgot to do anything with this character.

That 'hem hawing' is a very big deal in kendo, the style used for OT saber duels. Due to the katana's superior cutting potential relative to armour quality in Japan, you made sure the other guy couldn't get at you by testing his range and reaction speed before performing a decisive strike.

I get it’s functional but it’s a movie and boring to watch. Same thing with Jujitsu it is clearly effective but makes a crazy boring fight to watch.
Edited by LordFajubiI liked this redone scene
one of the big issues I have with a lot of lightsaber fights (especially the prequels, but also rebels and clone wars) is that the choreography gets too focused on the dance routine over the impact of two people clashing. It's the difference between a gripping fight and two people whacking each other with glowsticks
so I really appreciated the attention to "weight" put into this scene. obi-wan and Vader put their whole bodies into every motion, obi-wan staggers backwards under vader's onslaught, and Vader's vicious attacks cause collateral damage when deflected. etc
that and I think it got the rogue 1 Vader right. The man never stops moving forward and never stops attacking

That's fair, but I'm always a fan of a good balance between the two.
