Hello pilots! I am excited to announce Linebreakers (Address: 15491 7th St, Victorville, California 92395) will be hosting another Epic event coming up at the end of January. The details are as follows:
Saturday, January 27
$10 entry fee
300 points, with list requirements met, to be described below
Registration opens at 9 AM with round 1 beginning at 10
Please bring two printed copies of your list from an online squad builder
There will be a 1-hour lunch break after Round 1 is completed
List Requirements:
Contain one or more Huge Ships (following the “Epic Points” rules outlined below and in the Epic Tournament Rules)
Contain six or more of the same class small ship, to a minimum total point value of 100 points. ie:6+ TIE Interceptors, 6+ B-wings, 6+ Kihraxz Fighters etc...
Six Academy TIE Fighter Pilots does not satisfy this requirement, as the point total is not 100 or more points. These ships could be upgraded to named pilots and include upgrades to satisfy the requirement at 100+ points.
Contain three or more large ships of any class. ie:A YT-1300 and two YT-2400s, A Decimator, a Lambda Shuttle, and an Imperial Firespray-31, 3+ Aggressors (IG-2000s), etc...
Contain two or more flights (4+ small ships of the same class). ie:4 X-wings and 4 ARC-170s, 4 TIE Bombers and 4 TIE Strikers, 4 Z-95 Headhunters and 4 M3-A Interceptors, etc...
Additionally, some rulings to provide a touch of balancing, as there is still no update to the Epic Tournament rules/Epic FAQ at this time:
The crew cards of “Maul” and “Zuckuss” cannot be equipped to Huge ships.
Huge ships do not suffer the effects of Jam tokens.
Yes, I know Zuckuss is no big deal on a C-ROC. But Maul is a huge deal on a CR-90 and has a similar effect-based cost in taking on stress to reroll dice. To keep some parity between the effects, neither one can be equipped as crew on a Huge ship. Besides, if/when a Huge corvette ship becomes a thing, you won’t want to see either one on that sucker.
As for Jam tokens, Huge ships suffer enough. Removing their target locks can be done with plenty of effects already. A 1- or 2-point cannon or missile with a splash effect just neuters them even more, and I, for one, would like to see them getting put on the table.
