I have a regional coming up, and I've not been able to get anything like enough practice in. To the point where I have less than a month and I have no clue what to fly. I had planned a variant Wookiee list, but now with all the harpoons that are around in both my local meta and the broader global meta, I'm wondering whether I need something with the ability to strip target locks.

I have a couple of lists in mind, but the two pieces that I keep coming back to are Black One Poe and VI Flight Assist Wes. I'm okay with Poe, but I'm nervous about Wes. PS10 plus Flight assist helps him a lot, but it's likely going to see him out on his own a lot (away from support from Black One/Lowhhrick/Biggs etc.) and ultimately he's still a T-65 - no Autothrusters, very vulnerable to alpha strikes if something goes wrong and he can't strip enough TLs. Of course, if everything goes right, between Black One and Wes' ability, he shouldn't be taking too many missiles, but still, I'm nervous.

So I'm curious what people think. I made the cut at the same regional lastbyear, but I was flying a list I'd had a lot of time to practice with and tweak to perfection. I'd like to make the cut again, but I have very little practice time, so I'm relying on a strong list. Is Wes viable right now? Is he worth putting time into? Or should I go back to Wookiees and just rely on Reinforce to weather the harpoon storms?

Wes with Lowhhrick should be alright, but if he is just there for taking TLs, blackone Poe is probably the better way to go. Fenn Rau in the sheathipede can shutdown token stacks also. They can fire their harpoon but thats it. No rerolls, no focus, and if they had LRS instead of chips, no mods for them either.

Definitely get some table time with Flight Assist Astro though. I have been flying Luke with VI and FAA and its been great, but you have to know how to fly with FAA. You cant do a 3 straight then boost past your opponent if they are in front of you, you have to bank away so your arc doesnt have any enemies then boost past the enemy.

I can vouch that Fenn Rau in the shuttle is rediculous. He's a mix of Rex and Biggs. He reduces incoming offense and he is a target that needs to be dealt with.
