Ships We Still Need

Resistance B/SF heavy bombers would... be kinda interesting. If sadly just a huge min-maxing dmg wet dream. Maybe would be better if they were implemented as speed 2, Heavy Bomber - If you are attacking a ship you are touching, always deal the first damage as a face-up card. (blue black bomber dice only). 7 health, 20 points. Heavy. 2 blue AA.

If B-Wings fly at speed 2, I'm thinking these suckers should be speed 1.

Would that make them effective...? Well, maybe not, but that wouldn't hurt my feelings none.

How about a small under 40 point ship for Empire??

That would be very nice. What do you suggest?

Another one here for the Venator, but with V-Wings.

In Thrawn they were used as recently as (I think, I don't have the book on me) 3-4ish years before Yavin.

I'd argue they should rearrange the bridge to be more ISD or light cruiser (in fact, they did this to the light cruiser!) to give the impression they've been modified for Imperial use post Clone War.

As for V-Wings, I'm not sure...

Many I‘d like, but most important....

SECUTOR-class SD

I am so stoked hoping to play it officially one day replacing my scratch build. (Or rather supporting...?)

How about the Tartan Patrol Cruiser?

About 65meters smaller than a hammerhead but bigger than a cr90 puts them solidly in the small ship zone.

Gear them like the hammerheads but swap the red dice in front for a blue to get the price down a bit.

Def tokens same as hammerhead, but only 4 hull and 2 shields each zone to account for the improved shielding they had.

Skip the ordnance slot so they dont infringe on the raiders role, but give them that red AS dice so they can bully squads.

Then make them Torp Hammerhead cheap or cheaper like 32pts.

Hm, maybe I'll loosen my grip and dump them into an acid bath!

Ha! Didn't see that coming, did you?

What, you mean like Reclam station?

Totally saw that coming.

All I really want at this point is the Braha’tok-class gunship and the super star destroyer.

I’d also love a new campaign as well. It would be cool if the map basically connected to the corellian sector so that you could play a large campaign if desired.

It would certainly bring Independence out of people’s binders again

I know many will push for the more recent movie ships, but i still like some of the older designs :)

for the Rebels?

Broha'tok Gunship, MC-40, CC-9600/CC-7700, Wingless Liberty, Dauntless-Class, Assault Frigate Mk I, MC-80B, Endurance-Class, Nebula-Class and Majestic-Class ships

K-Wing's, T-Wing's, U-Wing's, Defenders, YT-2000 and either the X4 Gunship or Skipray Blastboat

for the Imperials?

Acclamator-Class, Venator-Class, Carrack-Class, Strike-Class, Vindicator-Class, Broadside-Class, Vigil-Class, Nebulon-B2 and of course the Executor-Class

TIE Aggressors, Gunboats, TIE Strikers, TIE Vanguards and TIE Oppressors or Scimitar Assault Bombers

Wingless Liberty. That is all

Empire -

Venator

Carrion Spike

Raider Mk2 (or whatever the modified Corvus from Battlefront 2 - I'm saying Empire because Empire needs more small ships and it's Imperial after all - just modified while in the rebellion)

Executor (with perhaps an Annihilator title for Rebels to use)

Rebels

Dornean Gunship

Starhawk

Federation

Constitution Class

Miranda Class

Nebula Class

Galaxy Class

Intrepid Class

Klingons

Vorcha

Negh'Var

K'Tinga

Bird of Prey

Romulans

D'Deridex (that's all they get for at least 4 waves)

I don't think I'll EVER understand this. It's called the Home One expansion.

What... was there one MC-80 with a partially different engine configuration at the battle of Endor? They are all different. Pick a title and give it that.

I have thrawn on my table right here and you are correct.

Lore-wise every Mon Cal ship was different so yeah

Lol... I think. Seriously, mixing SW with ST is a terrible idea.

I actually want the new model in a Chimaera style expansion for the Home One. That way I can actually have two different looking Figures for the same class on the table.

The Wingless Liberty actually has the same engine configuration as the regular Liberty - it's just that the ventral-most engine is hidden by a hull extension on the Liberty (so, only visible in some shots), that is not present on the Wingless Liberty. The only actual difference is the wings, and that ventral hull extension.

While lore-wise Mon Cal cruisers tended to be unique - it was only in the sense that no two ships in the same class have exactly the same internal layout.

In the ROTJ movie, they all use the same 3 models (Liberty, Wingless Liberty (which is Liberty filmed with a repaint and a few bits removed) and Home One Type.

That said, due to mirroring in photography, there are "left-handed" and "right-handed" Mon Cal cruisers (they are asymmetrical).

If FFG wants to give us new trilogy stuff, I really need to see the Mandator-IV on my table. (In case no one's noticed, I'm a bit of a fan of massive angry space triangles :) )

However, if they don't want to go New trilogy, there are more than enough ships left to make, just like @GrandAdmiralCrunch mentioned...I'd rather buy them from FFG than create custom ones.

Where was the mistake in the firstplace? ??

Na, Star Trek is alright by itself but please no cross-universe content

While I think a Star Trek version of Armada would be awesome, we would probably only see it come from Wizkids and their models in attack wing were terrible. If FFG could get ahold of the license, I would be soooo happy.

Or a Halo version with the UNSC ships having high hull and no shields (except the infinity)

That reminds me... did anyone ever play Halo Fleet Battles? Was it any good?

I doubt we ever see another ship again that hasn’t appeared on screen in the new canon. They haven’t done that since Wave 2 with the MC30. So, as much as I want a Dreadnaught or AF Mk I, I know it ain’t gonna happen.

The Rebels show has been the biggest source of new ships for both Armada and Xwing the past couple of years, but it is on its last season and there haven’t been any new ships shown this season. Maybe we still get the Dornean Gunship shown in the season 3 finale.

However, with Rebels drawing to a close there are rumors of a new show to take its place. Maybe it will have the new ship designs we want.

Not quite true, at least for squadrons. E-wings, TIE Phantoms, VT-49 Decimator never appear on screen, and the Z95s only appear in The Clone Wars show, in a completely different configuration.

Wave V gave us a few "Legends-only" fighters at least - the Decimator and Phantom for the Empire, the E-wing for the Rebellion.

For actual warships, it does seem like there's a distinct lack of movie stuff that hasn't got a model. Maybe they could take a leaf out of Mel's book and do the "MC-20" and "Sullustan Dreadnought" (based on distant movie shots).

The Empire needs more stuff - but they could always do ships that FFG have done for the various roleplaying games - the fact that the ships were often Legends didn't stop them - so why should it stop them for Armada?
