Why do people hate TLJ? (Spoilers)

Yeah the t-16 was just decorative...

But you know what at least there was exposition that's way more than rey got, its well accepted she's a sue arguing it at this point is silly.

Rey said in TFA: "I've flown some ships but never left the planet... !"

Good lord, pay attention to dialogue.

You can say it. Sexism. There’s really no other explanation. If Rey was Ray, all these ‘butt-hurt’ fanboys wouldn’t have a problem.

Ahh no that's pure sjw tactics you don't have a valid argument so it's sexism or the patriarchy or racism.

Sorry that doesn't work anymore it's been over used and no longer has any impact.

Nerds love well done female characters like Ripley or buffy, no one likes the old tomb raider movies going to blame that on sexism? Or course not they were just bad movies.

Rey could of been ray he'd of been a Marty stue and called out for the same nonsense.

Fair point on the magnetic rails, although the bombs looked a lot more like dropping in free-fall than being pushed along a rail.

Fighters flying under shields however, if that's a thing, then the whole idea of having an exposed command bridge (pretty much every capital ship in the setting) is pretty stupid. It also kinda contradicts the scene in ROJ, where it's heavily implied the A-wing destroyed the bridge of the Executor due to the shield generator being taken out seconds before.

Yeah but like, in TLJ, you've got these huge shields blocking huge blasts. But fighters fly right under like it ain't no thang.

It's sexism because you're holding the two characters to different standards. Rey is not a Mary sue for having plot armor in a kids movie, she struggles with some things and gets help with others. I'm sorry that people keep calling you out on your racism, sexism and other terrible stuff you do so often that you're immune to the shame. Maybe you should do a little introspection as to why that is?

100% of them died so maybe a little thang?

Archive footage of Mary Sue amazing pilot Rey:

And then she flew into the gates and some other stuff.

Millennium Falcon is the Mary Sue

I wonder how many people hate The Last Jedi because someone else hates it. Hate is a potent social emotion, it’s contagious among people who don’t think independently.

Just like the EA/Battlefront Ii hate.

What I find really unfortunate is the mindset of people nowadays. Its a “if he a guy he can fail but if he a she then no fail she must be da best at eberything cause udderwize dat secksist.*” And this is what I hate. I have nothing against female main characters if they’re done well and I’m against marty sues

Now its Time to sit back and enjoy the flak

Gas lighting now?

I literally said if the exact same charecter was male and did the same things he'd be a marty stue, thats equality a bad charecter is bad no mater their gender.

I get what you're saying, but in this case there is a double standard. Nobody seems to have a problem with Luke being inexplicably good at everything.

A lot of people seem to have an issue with Rey being inexplicably good at everything and she gets labeled as a Mary Sue, the product of bad writing, forced progressive agendas and whatever else.

I'm just asking why Luke gets a pass and Rey doesn't. I don't make any assumptions about why there's a double standard but there very clearly is one.

Yes, you did. But unless you've developed the ability to peek into the alternate reality where rey was a dude we'll just have to use this universe where, how convenient for you Rey is a girl!

Guess we'll never know how you'd react! But thanks for pinky swearing that you're totally objective despite your literally 10,000 posts of evidence to the contrary.

Citation needed!

I mean its not like I led the charge to have the tie phantom pilots declared female, or that I've extolled princess Leia time and again is it?

It simply can't be that reys poorly written.

Guys I can't be sexist, I took a faceless character and attached female pronouns to it! I mean her! *Holds up tie phantom body pillow *

Learn to face arguments than throw out sexist cards. I have no problem with Rey, but this is just sad

Thank goodness the tone police have arrived! Now can make sure to to approach arguments in bad faith in the approved way.

Not to me. Luke knew how strong the Dark Side is. Was there any alternative? How else could Kylo be stopped? Maybe taking him to a psychologist...

I'm sure luke knew it was completely impossible to turn a sithlord

Luke is high up on my list of grievances, along with the awkward esb call backs (luke acting like Yoda, kylos join me being the first to come to mind.)

My biggest gripe is the way tlj shrunk the whole universe. Esb showed us so much star wars and even though our heroes in a bad spot we knew the rebellion was still there. Tlj goes out of its way repeatedly to tell us there'snothing left. The entire resistance is down to the crew of the millennium falcon and a bunch of crappy buzz phrases that a failing business would circulate, fitting considering how backwards and inept the leadership is in the resistance.

Either episode 9 is going to take place in the future or itll be some stupid contrived rey vs the world vs. Either way, I'm not interested.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the reason there's no measurable response to this ...

Nah. Nevermind.

It's hard to believe in a 10,000 system galaxy that has no measurable response to something like TFO building up.

After 50-60 years of subjugation under a galactic empire, the level of apathy to an exact clone of said empire appearing is immersion-breaking.

One system that no-one has ever heard of or cares about is blown up far away and fails to effect the characters beyond providing an out-of-season fourth of July. And suddenly the Bothans, Tweileks, Wookiees, Coruscantis, Bespinites, Lotholis, Kuati, Mandalorians and all the rest, who suffered in chains under this empire for years and couldn't fail to see the system destroyed due to hyper-space window nonsense all sit back, and, do, nothing.

The entire galaxy is Jakku, Hoshia, Mas's Castle, and whatever new machines or planets are introduced as the directors demand. The old galaxy might as well not exist, except we need a source of beloved characters to kill off for drama.

So stinking with the three rules are we, okay.

I just thought of something re supremacy and why people don't put hyperspace bullets through star destroyers

Space is VAST and it's very possible that it's stupidly difficult to smash something as large and unwieldy as a capital ship into another at that sort of speed

Except, of course, when your ship is as much as a massive design disaster as the Supremacy, something painstakingly engineered to present as much of an excessively gargantuan surface area as possible to your enemies

This is why star destroyers are triangles, folks!

(Don't know why you wouldn't try to hyperspace projectiles though, but then again even dreadnaughts seem to be made of paper so maybe it isn't necessary)

Guys how did Rose manage to accelerate faster than Finn and knock him off course?
