Fenn Rau?

By iamzoner, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If Fenn in protectorate Starfighter with Fearlessness and Advanced Proton Torpedoes, will this combo allow a 6 die attack + 1 hit in the case of the fearlessness condition being met? Or is it only for primary weapon attacks?

What do the cards say?

Not helpful. Sometimes it's better to say nothing at all. Like this time. It's a question forum, and users are welcome to ask questions they'd like some clarification on.

Yes, @iamzoner , you've got it right. Fenn S&V ability always adds the one extra die regardless of the attack, along with the Fearlessness adding +1 <boom> to whatever you roll if the conditions are met.

Another interesting way to use it is to swap out Fearlessness for Expertise. The APT card would allow you to change up to 3 <blank> results to <eye>, and then Expertise changes the 3 <eye> to <boom>. With Guidance Chips, you can change another blank to a <critical> too thanks to Mr. Rau's 3 primary.

(The cards say yes.)

(Neither Fenn Rau's pilot ability nor Fearlessness say anything about primary weapon attacks, so they both work on any attack.)

If the poster had quoted the cards for us, it would have been easier to answer the question. Otherwise, we have to go out, look up the cards, and figure out the answer. The point being -- if you want help, you can do the little extra bit to help the people helping.

Links to the X-wing wiki are good if you can't get the images attached. This forum has a decent interface for special features like hyperlinks.

Therefore, by induction....

On an unrelated note: the reason most cookie recipes have you mix the butter and sugar first is so the sugar crystals will cut up the butter, creating little air bubbles in the eventual dough and therefore a fluffier cookie. Also, if your recipe contains flour, doing this step before the four is added lets you mix thoroughly without risk of overdeveloping gluten. If your recipe doesn't specify an order to mix ingredients, start by beating the sugar into the fat and then adding everything else.
