How quickly do these usually sell out?

Surprisingly inexpensive and logistically feasible; perhaps this nub will make it to a giant tournament!

(Is that a good idea? Would I be wasting everyone's time/stealing a more worthy player's spot?)

Usually? Not super fast. Your preferred day might though since the field is split in two.

Half the price of Regionals and close to transit so I don't need to take my car into that traffic pit!

As long as you're steady with the rules, nah, go for it. Your first big event is quite the eye opening and nerve wracking experience but it's fun. There will be plenty of people doing it not because they have a chance, but because it's 6 rounds of their favourite game and it's nearby. Yeah, don't worry about it. If you have a good time and you treat your opponents respectfully, you're worthy.

Thanks. Gives me time to put some plans together -- would be coming in from Kitchener. Looks like I may need to do a lot of practising in the coming months!

I know a lot of guys out that way. I'm in Milton, it's a bit of a drive, but feel free to drop by Untouchables on Tuesdays if you want to try some things out. (not the 26th though - no guarantee anybody will be there!)
