3rd Annual Armada Vassal World Cup

By BiggsIRL, in Star Wars: Armada

Greenie Pie vs Rikash starting up now on Vassal for those who are interested. :)

Captain Weather and myselfs game has been moved up to "sooner", as in sometime in the next hour we're starting.

My match with themightyhedgehog was moved back to Monday.

@BrobaFett / @rasproteus - do you two have a date for your game? You're the only ones not to post a schedule.

We've been trying but it's been a rough work week for both of us. Maybe tomorrow night, worst case Monday @rasproteus ?

Quarterfinals match, Green knight vs Karneck starting in 8 hours.

Both lists are undefeated as GK faces off against yet another Sloane list.

Will my Sloane be another corpse steamrolled by the Cymoon Vader juggernaut? Or will Jendon / Stele manage to carry me to victory?

By my calculations, 9 hours. Have we calculated wrong?

Can we... not?

There's still 4 1st Elimination round games outstanding, and we definitely haven't gotten the preview written.

Edit: Looks like games will be done by end of day Monday, which should begin the next round.

Reminder: Cactus vs @JJs Juggernaut scheduled to begin in approximately 4 hours at 8pm PST/10pm CST, with an option to start early depending on JJ's work schedule.

@BiggsIRL this is due to the fact that we can only really match up our schedules on weekends and he will be gone next weekend, we will not get another chance to complete our game otherwise. Sorry man.

Unless we also have the 24th and 25th weekend open to us? We might be able to push back to that maybe?

So we either get the game finished now when we both know we're on and able to do so, or we wait 2 weeks for a "maybe we can"? I know which option I'd rather choose. :/

No worries @Green Knight

If that is the best you can do.

I just don't want to see folks get way out in front of the other brackets.

We can lock the room, log the game and post results at a later date. If that helps.

JJs vs thecactusman17 ends in a 7-3 win for me. Full report in the battle reports thread.

@Green Knight

Ah good morning to you! I'm on Vassal and ready whenever you are free!

Excellent game that demonstrated a key strength of Raddus' ability to defend a win. Thanks @JJs Juggernaut .

Thanks for playing! I love precises, quick-playing opponents!

You mean you love precise red die that roll insane amounts of damage hahaha.

Great game man, thank's for taking the time to wake up early so we could play! Good luck moving forward!

I LOVE my red dice just the way they are. I hope they never change. One shot with way too many accs, but after that just perfection!

And thanks for staying up late to play, so we could do this before I go skiing.

While we wait for the final game of the PODs to finish, here is the Commander count of those moving on:

General Dodonna - 6
Admiral Sloane - 3 (+1 pending)
Admiral Motti - 2 (+1 pending)
Admiral Raddus - 1
Admiral Ozzel - 1
Darth Vader - 1
General Rieekan - 1

So, congratulations to JJs, Dupy, Darth Veggie, and Greenie, who are the #1 Drunkle Raddus, Ozzel, Rieekan, and Vader respectively.

Quarter-Final round brings us quite a different look.

General Dodonna - 2
Admiral Sloane - 2 (one already eliminated)
Admiral Motti - 1
Admiral Raddus - 1
Admiral Ozzel - 1
Darth Vader - 1

No longer the Dodonna show. Things are getting interesting!

Brobafett and @rasproteus has ended in a win for Brobafett. We digitally shook hands over it after the meat of turn 4 was over and it was clear that the MOV I had was going to be enough.

When this tourney started, Rasp and I requested we not play each other because we ARE each other's regular opponents, and I consider the guy not just a random forum bro but a real friend. So getting paired together first round of elims was pretty disheartening, as we both knew we both stood a chance at deep runs and we were rooting for each other- and this meant that one of us was done after this.

We took so long to play because life was rough, but honestly, a little because neither one of us actually wanted to play the game.

I knew win or lose I wouldn't be super stoked because honestly Rasp is a good enough player that he could and should be in the quarters. Even in our game, I gambled big with Demo that I could avoid a double arc and Rasp managed to thread the needle and get a double arc anyway. If Rasp's dice didn't abandon him, failing to proc APT on both arc shots, my Demo that ended up limping away on 3 hull could have very very easily died to a Dodonna Structural, erasing my entire MOV and making this game a tooth and nail scrape to the finish line.
