@BiggsIRL @Drasnighta do we have a tentative ruling on how Chimaera will work for our purposes?
Unless @BiggsIRL decides to override me at his Whim and power to do so:
EDIT: (And he has - See Below)
Drasnighta's Personal FAQ
"Chimaera" and "Fleet Command"
1) The Fleet Command must be face up to be Discarded for
Chimaera
. If it has been discarded to be used, then it cannot be triggered for replacement.
2) The Fleet Command that is discarded
remains equipped for the purposes of scoring
.
3) Each Fleet Command equipped to Chimaera is an individual card, and as long as there is only one card face-up equipped, it is legal.
4) Multiple Identical Face-down Discarded Cards
all
count individually for the purposes of scoring.
5) To equip a copy of a card that has been discarded, the discarded card
must remain discarded
. IE, you must have access to another copy of the card.
6) As long as the Chimaera (and the fleet list) starts the game at a legal points value, what changes during the game is irrelevant to legality - it is only relevant to scoring.
Point 5 doesn't count because its Vassal play. But it would count for Real Life play.
So, in this Scenario:
A 400pt list with a 120pt Chimaera starts the game with Entrapment Formation! attached. (For argument explicity sake, it is an ISD-1 with Chimaera, Skilled First Officer, and Entrapment Formation!)
At the start of the Second Turn, it swaps it out for Intensify Firepower! - Entrapment formation is turned face down and Intensify Firepower is attached in its place. The total list is now worth 401 points, but remains legal, as the 'list check' part of the game has passed.
The Chimaera, if destroyed, is now worth 126 points. (ISD-I, Skilled First Officer, Chimaera, Entrapment Formation!, Intensify Firepower!)
At the start of the 3rd Turn, it discards Intensify Firepower in order to replace it with Entrapment Formation! again. The Intensify Firepower card is turned face down next to the Face down Entrapment Formation! card,
and another
Entrapment Formation! card is attached in its place.
The Chimaera is now worth 131 points if destroyed (ISD-1, Skilled First Officer, Chimaera, Entrapment Formation!, Intensify Firepower!, Entrapment Formation!)
If the Skilled First Officer is used, the Chimaera is still worth 131 points at this point (ISD-1, Skilled First Officer, Chimaera, Entrapment Formation!, Intensify Firepower!, Entrapment Formation!)
...
I am surprised there isn't a rules thread for this, for just that reason.
I am going to double check the rules on this one as magical inflating ISDs don't feel right (though may in fact be right, RAW)
100:1 odds that you have to buy every fleet command card that you want to have available. They all count towards your fleet's total cost, even though only one is available at a time.

Two Intensify Firepower?
The card is unique?

Only one is equipped in the fleet at a time.
I gave it as an example explicitly to explain that.
List submitted. I bet I have an upgrade card no one else has

It's point defense reroute!
I am going to overrule Dras on the Chimera. "Replace" is the key word that people seem to be having trouble with - to replace something you must take it away. This is not "discard then add a fleet command", it is "replace".
You do not remove discarded cards - they are out of play but still a part of the game, however you must remove the fleet command card from the game in order to complete the replacement of it with a new card. The card you removed is no lomger equipped. The new card is.
There is no specific time listed where a ship checks to see if it has the appropriate upgrades equipped. It is a continual check. Otherwise Profundity wouldn't work.
So a few points:
- You must be able to discard the card in order to replace it. No replacing cards already discarded.
- You cannot replace the card with a unique if there is already a unique card equipped to your fleet.
- I cannot see anything preventing a list from going above 400 points in this way, however - a tableing is 400 points regardless of the actual point value of ships destroyed.
- The upgrades "reset" to the submitted fleet list at the end of the game.

Actually if it’s a continual check, the moment between you un-equiping the commander and placing on the small ship, your list becomes illegal for that small window of time right?
I was writing a post to disagree with Biggs' ruling, but hey its his tourney so can do what he likes.
I dont know what fleet to bring, need ideas, no matter how silly. RLB Slicer tool flotillas are really expensive!

I am not the only one who is clueless, yeah.
any way i could get bumped into the running for the main event, not just the fleet patrol.
