FFG has colour coded each wave/set which makes rotation as easy as following the colours of the boxes, once black leaves a format all of the black boxes leave.

Trilogy - Current colour.

Standard - 2 Most recent colours and any pre-released items from the third that come out before the core set (2 player box for example.)

Infinite - All cards.

So no, cards like ancient lightsaber won't fall out of rotation until the third colour boxes comes up. Unless for some reason you just play trilogy.

Ancient Lightsaber is good for another year. Maybe not a great value to buy expensive cards in the last set of a cycle though.

My LGS runs tournaments and when they did the Spirit of Rebellion prerelease we asked players at the next tournament if they wanted SoR to be legal for that night. All the players agreed they wanted to be able to include SoR cards. So we had a tournament with SoR cards a few weeks early.

I Just want to know when Cassian Andor will be a character...
